Im anxiously awaiting the sequel to Codemasters 2001 game Operation Flashpoint.
As I understand it, Op Flash 2 is currently in limbo due to difference of opinion between the publisher [Codemaster] & developer [Bohemia] over release dates & company take overs.

Bohemia assures the gaming community that irregardless of what may take place, they are proceeding with Op Flash 2 [or whatever the new title may be]. Compared to the original Flashpoint which took place in 1985 during Cold War operations, Op Flashpoint 2 will take place in a near-future ficticious conflict . Gamers will enjoy playing in three different areas: [1] Southeast Asia, [2] Central Europe and [3] Africa, You'll play as three different soldier types during each section of the game [Marine solider, US Army officer, and Special Ops]. Progress in game will allow you to upgrade your squads and soldiers through what Bohemia refers to as something similar to RPG-like leveling system. You'll also be able to communicate in real time with non-player character allies and learn useful intel from them.

Additional improvements for Flashpoint 2 will be visuals, damage modeling, varying explosions [no two the same], increase in number of units onscreen & soldier modeling & detailed environment.

Got news/rumors on Op Flash 2. or its influencing owners/puplishers? Last I heard Codemaster sold out 40% of its share to some Europeon venture capital firm [Im scared, lol]. I hope these ownership issues dont derail Op Flash 2!
