Mike Patton alert--he's apparently signed on to compose and perform music for this game--possibly the score. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Patton Currently, that's my primary interest in the game.
Anyone looked at this upcoming Ps2/Xbox game from Rockstar? Anyone intruiged. . .or does it sound like a dull-assed game from a company that--aside from it's GTA formula--appears to exploit controversial concepts for sales in lieu of actual creative and fun gameplay?
I'm also wondering if they'll have a difficult time releasing this game after the last controversy and subsequent congressional investigation. . . you've got to admit, as much as I loathe both cencorship and Jack Thompson, his comments about this violent bully simulator aren't exactly without some merit:

"‘Columbine’ changed the face of America, but you are about to come out with a game that celebrates, glamorizes, and trains kids to do what Klebold and Harris did. Are you nuts?”

I wasn't interested until now. Two words - Mike Patton. Instantly, its on my radar. Thanks for the heads up.
Regarding the other facets of this game, who cares. I agree its probably morally irresponsible but they are just making what people want and will buy in droves. For that reason I can't necessarily lay all the responsibility on Rockstar.
Seems like we're a dying breed; gamers who actually enjoy games rather than whatever is the most violent, perverted, or contains the most potty humor. Bully seems like a perfect fit for those morons. Oh wait, thats 75% of the gaming population. Sad but probably true. :(
I should go into a different business. A guaranteed blockbuster game = huge breasted, naked women fighting their way through the invasion of Normandy (for the allies of course) whilst smoking joints and spraying enemy blood everywhere. Oh, and don't forget the cursing. :D

Mike Patton. . . yeah, that's all I needed to hear, too, though if it's a lousy game like State of Emergency I hope Mp3's of the music are floating around. A great game is all important, but if it can be a great game AND violent and perverted, by all means. And since I was a school bully for several years (until of weed smoking age, then I chilled right out and started studying non-school-approved esoterica) I've gotta admit there's some appeal to a trip down memory lane, vandalizing the school, or like, handcuffing a freshmen, naked, to a school toilet and then flushing the key (true story.) Wait, that was after weed-smoking age; but it was an aberation. I promise. Seriously. I'm totally different now. For Real.
Bully. . . could be one of the greats!

A favorite pastime of mine and my crew was to hurl fruit at people during lunch. Only the soft stuff like oranges and bananas and milk. No opples.
Bully seems like it would be one of those context-sensitive games. Only time will tell, though.
I'm also interested in The Warriors, also from Rockstar. If they get the fighting right, it could be a good one.
