Coming our way from Famitsu, are the first screens and details for Resident Evil Deadly Silence, the remake (once again) of the original Resident Evil, this time landing a spot on the Nintendo DS.

There are some differences in this remake. It appears that the backgrounds are not going to be pre-rendered, and there is also a touchscreen knife battle mode.

We'll keep you updated, and for now, enjoy the first scans from Famitsu Weekly.

Ok, well, RE on the DS is all well and good, but for the love of....WHY ANOTHER REMAKE? Feh. Talk about a wasted opportunity.

"Deadly Silence" must refer to the sound level of the applause for another remake.

On the other hand, touch screen stabbing. . . making killing more tactile is a good thing. "Killing is good."

I dunno...portable RE1 isn't necessarily a bad thing. It might be worth picking up, specially considering that the game is fully 3D this go round.
