I just lost my first stylus yesterday. I don't know how I did it, since I never play with the stylus anyways. But, it got me to thinking how everyone else's HH's are doing, since there are quite a few here that have one or another or both.

My PsP is still pristine; just really haven't put in massive hours on it though I'm back hooked on Lumines again. . .what a masterpiece that game is.

DS has seen long, hard use and everything still works great. Touch screen was a concern because I've seen some in the stores that have dead spots that don't respond to the stylus, but I'm pretty sure that must be caused by some hardcore high pressure stylus gouging. I also always use a screenprotector on both the DS and PsP. I have a TON of styluses (or Styli?); every time I buy the screen protectors there are free styli in it. I haven't lost one yet, but I did put a metallic silver stylus in my platinum gamecube, and a metallic blue stylus in my wife's Blue DS (pretty geeky I guess, but since I had them anyway. . . )

How in the F did you post before I even finished my poll?

Anyways. My DS bottom has a few scratches from my girl playing Wario Ware with the stylus. The shell also has a coupla scratches, and the thumb nub that comes on the strap has been chewed the hell out of by one or more of my cats.

My PSP has only the three tiny scratches that I put on it the day I bought it, but my PSP has not gotten nearly half of the playtime that my DS has gotten.

Well, I have rediscovered some passed-by Game Boy RPGs due to the fact that they are soooo much more playable on a backlit screen (the DS, of course). Meteos and Kirby, and Bomberman, and am waiting intently for Electroplankton. Given the amount of time I've put into it, the DS looks and works fine, with no wear apparent on the touchscreen, and no scratches on the case..

I've not touched my PSP in weeks. Everytime I go out looking for new games for it, I see shytloads of UMD movies...but no games. So, the PSP is literally looking like new.

The pot I was smoking yesterday causes temporal dislocations.

Both of my handhelds are in mint.

With one exception, my PSP has a stuck pixel. Right smack-dab in the middle of the screen. I'll be sending out off for warranty repair/replace sometime next week.

I've had the authorization to do so for a while now, but just couldn't part with it. But now that I'm not getting Death Jr. - and now that I find out that Namco Museum Battle Collection is $40 ($40?!, are you kidding me?! - Namco can #@$% off) - now's the best time. It's gonna be hard to carry on without HSG for those two weeks tho'.

As long as Advance Wars turns out I should be alright. I hope.

I don't have a screen protector for either of my systems. It's not because I don't want one - I do, pretty bad - but it's because I'm confused as to which one to get. I've heard people insist on Hori... but I'd always thought that a screen-protector was just a screen-protector, you know? Now I'm afraid to buy the wrong one; I've been immobilized.

I noticed a minor flaw that my DS has developed. . .last night, about 3am was playing Advance Wars and I had the volume turned down way low. This was the first time I played this game with the volume low, and I noticed the lower tones in the music were making buzzy distorted sounds, rather than being clear tones like when I have it turned up louder.

Just to make sure it wasn't the game or me being crazy, I put the game in my wifes DS, and no distortion, even when quiet.

I guess either 9 months of heavy full-volume use have put some wear on the speakers, or else the distortion is caused by some sort of flaw with the volume-control lever.

I have a GBA SP from the day of launch. The screen is flawless except for a couple of dust particles that have been stuck inside. The body paint has seen a lot of wear but amazingly there's only one scratch on the surface of the shell. I've dropped it, spilled water on it and my daughters have been using the GBA but it still plays and sounds like it was new. These things are built to last. Maybe if I run over it with my car....

My cellphone is seven years old but not a single stuck pixel on its LCD. The keypad has been worn to the point of the keys almost falling off and the case has been scratched and damaged so much I've had to repaint it using spray paint at least 4 times.

Oh wait, you mean that kind of handheld!

You wanna know the sickest handheld still running I've ever seen? I've mentioned my 60yr old father-in-law and his wife bought a GC just to play animal crossing together. Well, they wanted to visit the island, so they got a GBA just for that purpose, and it was this dirt cheap thing from a pawn shop. It had been eaten by a dog. The screen looked like someone had pulled a James Byrd Jr. on it, and the purple casing was so chewed, so many teeth marks, and even on the buttons, that it looked like a piece of used bubble gum. SERIOUSLY. A big piece of chewed purple bubble gum.

But it worked fine.
