View Full Version : Relentless Ordinators!

Whats with the Ordinators attitude in Morrowind? I dispatched one in a secluded library located in one of the Cantons. It seemed remote enough for my first Ordinator sack, or so I thought.
When I returned to the open streets, Ordinators attacked me. I have NO bounty on me [nor did I after whacking the Ordinator in Library, I simply taunted him into altercation].

QUESTION: How do I get these guys off my back? Seems these guys have an extensive grapevine of hate throughout Vvardenfell.

You can't get them off your back. Once you kill an Ordinator, you're marked for the rest of that game. Even if you piss one off (like by wearing an Ordinator helmet in front of him), Ordinators in that location will always attack you (like in Vivec in one of my games).

BTW, I'm playing the Underground mod with my female vampire character (my third and pretty sure last character). This mod will blow you away. Adds a huge assortment of underground locations and a great big quest. Improves gameplay by adding actual puzzles to complete many of the quests (as opposed to the usual fetch this/kill that which plagues Morrowind), and really tough enemies (some of which can only be defeated a certain way). The first time you enter the Underground Club (a converted Daedric shrine beneath Balmora) to Oingo Boingo's 'Dead Man's Party', you know you're in for something special. Warning: Don't play the Underground with a lot of other mods (but DO play it with Vampire Embrace and Better Bodies, and Return to Hellhouse also fits in nicely with it), and don't load any new mods to a game you're already playing, because you can screw it up. And the Underground will slow the already sluggish Morrowind down even more (it's okay in most places, but in some it can really bog down...it can drop to below 15 FPS in the club). And save often. Quests can be broken easily, it appears. But it's worth it. And the Undergound II is in testing, which is the original plus a whole new add-on adventure.

Re: the Ordinator situation, I think I'll do a work around by using Invisibilty when Im near them. Im also searching for a ring with Constant Invisibility that could be enchanted [if thats possible]. Im just too far into game to start over, & I failed to do a hard save for some time :( . Nonetheless, I find it a bit more challenging under this persistent threat from Ordinators. I just completed a [main] quest that had me in the thick of Ordinator territory [Vivec] & barely made it out alive with 4 Ordinators in hot pursuit [a quick leap off the third floor of Canton into waters below did the trick]. The up side is the glut of wealth that comes from Ordril armor$$$.

Regarding the mods, I WILL indeed heed your advice on the Underground mod. Impressed I am with those high res screens!

What would you suggest for a new character on my second start through Morrowind WITH the Underground mod? [My current is Nord & I have joined only the Blades & Thieves Guild.]

You can play Underground with any character. You get a companion for the whole campaign (female if you're a male, male if you're a female). They'll help you in fights, though some of the missions you do solo. Before you start doing the Underground campaign, your character should be pretty high level (the guy who made it recommends at least level 25; I'm level 32 right now). The mod is ideal for vampires. Your companion is a vampire, and dialogue is modified when you are one. When I started my latest game, I immediatley ran up to Sheogorad and got infected by an Aundae clan vampire. I then joined the clan when I turned vamp, did those quests, joined Telvanni, did those quests, and did the Hell House quests before starting Underground (go into the sewers beneath Balmora to start that campaign). Since I've roleplayed Morrowind enough already, I went around snatching lots of valuable items early and using the profits to train up really fast so I could get right into Underground as quickly as possible. Now that I'm into it, I'll just level up naturally on forward. My character is a high elf mage, no armor (very different experience from my Breton thief and my Nord fighter!)..

Weird, I'm pretty sure I hunted Ordinators for profit back in the day and I don't remember them going all ballistic on me. Or maybe they did, I just didn't mind since I was hunting them for cash anyway. ;)
