Morrowind: Bal Molagmer Quests

Seriously now, re: Bal Moalgmer quests, when I ask Gentleman Jim about the Bal Molagmer, he tells me to put on "the gloves". I have no gloves. I ask Jim again regarding Bal Molagmer, but again he advises me to put on the gloves.

I am aware that to get "the gloves", I must talk to Jim about the Bal Molagmer, and then don the gloves he gives me. Every time I want to do a BM quest, I have to have the gloves on when I talk to him.

QUESTION: If Jim doesnt offer me "the gloves", how do I aquire them?
Im assuming these gloves are special, not of the common variety.

Now I have to figure out how to fix a corrupted saved game that has halted my game with the Underground mod. Otherwise, I'll have to recreate my character from scratch and start over.

Re: your corrupted saved game file, has this ever happened with the "vanilla" version of MW for you? It seems that the modded MW has its share of corrupted files, no?

Btw, Im finally enjoying MW, just advanced to Mastermind & am thrashing my way through Vvardenfell @ level 24. The game is far more enjoyable with a higher sneak ability too.
I think I'll play this run through till I finish main quest & then consider a new start with some of those mods you've been enjoying ;) .

Back to my original Q about the gloves, I must have screwed up somewhere, or perhaps the event that triggered Jim giving me these gloves never happened. I also checked with all the merchants I do buisness with to make sure I didnt accidently sell the gloves. What ever the case, it looks like I'll have to start a new game to find out how I aquire the gloves IF I want to participate in the Bal Molagmer Quests.

[searching failed to turn up anything on aquiring gloves, but I did read the first Bal Molagmer quest in which it described the gloves as non-magical & black in color.]

Anyone have an old save file that includes Bal Molagmer quests & offer a better description of gloves..i.e. do they have an armor rating, or ??
