I've got 15 minutes left in queue.
If you've got time after I'm through downloading it, I'll host a game either tonight or tomorrow.

I read that Dungeon Siege 2 was being "developed exclusively for Windows XP." Because XP is different from previous MS OS's (not built on DOS), does this mean that those of us not using XP will be screwed out of playing DS2? I'm not as hardcore as some of you guys, and so I have yet to acquire an XP machine.

I've played it a bit and think it's cool as hell...but there isn't much here for people that didn't like the original.
They've addressed alot of the issues that had the most complaints, the automatic feel, the simple character building, the linear world, all that good stuff. But beyond that it's still basically the same game, although it seems to be a bit faster paced.
As for it only running on XP...I remember hearing about a free map for the original that was designed only to run on XP machines, but I haven't heard anything about this game being designed solely for that. But even if it is it's not that hard to circumvent and run on 9x machines.

It seems pretty cool, but one think I don't like is the control method (point & click) in the original and diablo style you can click and hold and your character will move in the direction of the mouse, this is constantly click to move which is annoying, hopefully that will change with the full version, the version I d/l doesn't have multiplayer :/

You know what I'd like? For one of these games to have some decent joystick support for a change. These kinds of games are more fun to play on a gamepad IMO, it's just that nobody in the PC world ever realized it. I mean, I had a blast playing XMen Legends, and hey Baldur's Gate DA and Champions weren't half bad. Mouse has some advantages in targetting but sucks for movement. I'd take a gamepad anyday, or hybrid gamepad mouse would work too for this kind of game.

When's this game going gold, by the way? I think I'll skip out on the demo and just wait for the retail to come out.

Ah so it should hit shelves in another week or two. Excellent.

What's the camera like? What I mean is, how low can you swing it? One complaint I have when I play the original, is that I wish I could get the camera lower, to slightly above character eye level. Neverwinter Nights became a much better game when the camera hack was included in a patch. I would assume that most people expect full camera range in games now, so surely it was implemented in DS2.
I can't download demos, I use a phone line.
I did pre order it as I enjoyed the original and the expansion to it. I expect more from the sequel here and will see how it fars soon enough. The demo was cool and it looks like an improvement in some areas.
I also agree Mochan, I have Xmen Legends and it is really good for a gamecube game. I do like sitting back from my pc some and playing as I do in my sports games. No reason a gamepad could not be used for this type of game.
