Hey guys i finally got an error message as to my problem with my 6600 GT.Its says something to the effect that my device is experiencing problems. Then it says something about getting stuck in a loop?? im thinking this is what is causing the freezing.Anyone have any clue what a graphics loop means??Is my card trashed??I ended up buying a 500 watt power supply see if maybe that would fix th problem but it doesnt.Owell i could use the 500 watt psu anyways for when i get my geforce 6800 GT

What you could be experiancing is similar to what happens to me on my ATI card. I was getting all sorts of crashing problems with games, until the error message VPU recover started showing, this happens especially slightly older games, but newer ones too (ie: Thief 3, Deus Ex 2)

Step one:

Go into your vid card settings and see if you can change your AGP 8x to AGP 4x, also try turing the "Fast Write" off...if you have that option.
(I find with my PC running on 4x, I never get crashing at all, and yes my mobo can support AGP 8x and it is enabled...still seems problematic though)

Step Two:
Go into your Bios and set your AGP apperture settings to the highest.
also check to see if your AGP 8x is enabled or check to see if your Mobo supports 8x.

Step 3:

Put your vid card settings back to 8x and see what happens.

If all else fails...go to the http://download.guru3d.com/dna/ (http://download.guru3d.com/dna/)
and grab these unoffical drivers, this has helped me in the past, just not with Morrowind....grrrrrrrrr!

Try that!

Jupes, like I mentioned just give up on Morrowind and wait for Oblivion. I think you'll be a happy camper this way. :)

Bane, do you get a blue screen of death with your GPU? If so then that might mean its shot. I get a blue screen due to my memory being shot (it'[s a blue screen and it the case of my memory it tries to check it for damage and says my PC has been stopped to prevent damage to other peripherals).

No worries, I won't give up on Morrowind, I still have "Game of the Year Edition" on my Xbox, still one big game! I delightfully uninstalled the PC version and refunded it back to EB Games!

As far as DX 9C is concerned, I am using it again. All my other games work and have always worked great with Dx9.
