problem with my aoe2

ok hello guys...

my problem is when i start to install the game it is going fine but when it is reach to 60% or around..it stoped and making uninstall
i do not know but my frainds told me that problem coming becuse I am using winXP
so is that true? and if it is true so any body can help me to find the soultion..plz

Sounds like a bad disc. If it's not that, it may be your registry entries maybe reporting the game as already installed. It could also be copyright protection. Your best bet may be hitting the AoE2 forums.

I'd say it's a bad disk, too. As a test, try copying the contents of the entire disc to your harddrive. If it stops somewhere, you know you have a bad disk.
