Yo!,
I'm lookin for a new game and Soul Calibur 2 looks pretty cool so far, but does it have anything that's gonna make me like it more than any other, or is it just like any other fighting game? Thanx!

Thanx, good times...
...Unless of course you mean "underwhelmed" enough to regret even renting it, but i suppose it couldn't it couldn't be that bad.
Either way thanks.

well, actually, I rented it and put in AT THE MOST 1 hour in the entire week and a halfday I had with it. I really was pissed because I was a huge fan of the first SC on Dreamcast but this one seemed more like a step back than forward. I dunno. I WILL tell you that I usually game alone or online so if you have friends around constantly, maybe you'll enjoy it but I found it to be just too boring.

Yeah, i live in another city than most of my freinds and i'm too lazy to get a job to pay for live, so i'll probably run into many of the same problems.
Thanks for the forewarning.

If you are thinking of getting Soul Calibur 2 stop thinking and go buy it is one of the best fighting games that I have ever played. I hope that you get it because it is truelly a great and fun game to play not only alone but with your friends to.

Personally, I though SC II was quite a bit better than the first one. The new characters rock and the number of weapons you can collect for each character is insane.(each weapon had a backstory too)

SC 2 is a must-have in my book.

Soul Calibur is my favorite game series probably of all time. I have been playing it since good old 1996 for Ps1 and in the arcades. I own Soul Calibur II for all three next generation systems and I find myself playing the X-box version the most. It loads the fastest, best graphics, very fluent. Also I need to practice for a local tournament that was held only on the X-box, and which I wont it. And Spawn is just that damn cool. I highly suggest buying this game. It’s no “button masher beat um upper” There’s tons of combos and techniques to learn with each character. A lot of game modes like vs. Team battle that will keep you and your friends busy playing it to death. The one player story mode is very interesting where you can earn new weapons with different stats and abilities for each character. And than you can use those weapons against your friends! If your still sketchy on buying it, feel free to ask me some questions on it or even give it a rent.

I bought the Xbox verison, and rented the GCN verison, and even though I havent tried the PS2 verison, I'll have to agree with Y2k, the Xbox SCII looks great, and the controller works well too. As for the game its self, I loved it. I'm not to fond of fighting games myself, but when i picked up this one I put 4+ hours In one day. Its at least a rent and try game.

Hey thatx everybody for the useful feedback,
I've played this game on all three systems and I gotta say I love the Xbox version for Spawn, and I like the slightly higher amount of ease i had w/ controls on the GC. Pretty cool game, I'll definitly pik it up when sometime, but first I think I'm gonna check out some others b4 I decide what to spend my cash on; That KotOR sounds appealing, so do a couple others. I'll most likley get SC2 sometime though.

Good times, and thanx for the advice

My brother loves this game and I personally think it's one of the best games on the XBOX especially if you have someone to play with. I don't care if I win because it doesnt' happen much, but it's one of the funnest games you'll ever have on the XBOX. anyone that doesn't like it must suck at it. Kisses!

I was a huge fan of the original on the Dreamcast/Arcade so when I heard they were doing a sequel I was hyped and MAN WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT!!! The graphics are breath-taking to say the least (I found myself putting it on practice mode just to look at the backrounds) The characters from the original have been totally revamped and the new characters are fantastic. The Weapons Master mode is an RPG style (weak) story driven mode that allows you to earn money to purchase new/better weapons and alternate costumes for the characters. After you beat the weapons master mode the 1 player aspect is pretty much the same as any other fighting game so your gonna need some friends to make this title last. The addition of online would be nice but maybe next time. I definately recommend this title if you like fighting games at all.
