Wouldn't that make a great fighting game? IMO those are the best two 3-D fighters that I've seen this generation. Putting them together would make a killing, especially since Itagaki has shown interest in the PS3. Maybe even including a couple of "game-exclusive" characters for each system. I think this could actually work, since , to me anyways, no two 3-D fighting games play so closely like each other.

Both have characters with stories developed so where there would be possible run-ins with other characters from the other side, so it wouldn't seem like just a mashing of games into one big confusing mess. Developing a whole story-line to go with the game, cut-scenes and all. Each system would have its own champion, of course.

Back to the exclusive characters. Tina, Ayane, and Helena need to stay on the 360. Ps3 should keep King, Whoarang, and Jun for themselves. Who do you think would be better?

I know what fight I would like to see: Christie Monterio vs Lei Feng.

As far as exclusive characters, I think Hitomi and Christie should be 360 only (I don't remember them on DOA2 Hardcore on PS2), while...gee, I'm not sure who could be exclusive for PS3. Most of the characters I want to list wouldn't work: Heihatchi (what woudl Tekken be w/o him?), Nina, Yoshimushi and Kazuya.

If Namco would consider adding a couple of Soul Calibur characters (w/o weapons, of course) that would make things even more interesting.....though Taki and Ivey would be more suited for a Tecmo/Namco beach volleyball game.

Isn't Itagaki known for not liking the Tekken franchise?

Sure is. He is even including a new character in DOA4 that is supposed to be a knock to characters with weapons in Tekken.

Itagaki is supposedly developing a new and revolutionary fighting engine in DOA4 that all other games can follow. He says that most fighting games use other engines to make their game, those engines not really being created with fighting games in mind.

I just want them to hurry so they can start work on Ninja Gaiden 2.

Can an action game use the same engine as a fighting game? It would seem a little tricky, with fighting games having relatively small areas to work with, compared to the monster levels in Ninja Gaiden.

Speaking of Ninja Gaiden(I always am), anyone going to get NG: Black? I know most here have Live, so why the hell bother, right? Well, this one is going to come out with the extra movies(yeah, I'm a CG whore), and the Arcade version of Ninja Gaiden. Finally!

Also, I recently read at the Tecmo forums(or Team Ninja, it was linked) that some guy beat the XBOX version of Ninja Gaiden in 2:40-ish minutes! That's insane-fast.

If Itagaki is really making a new fighting engine for DOA4, then it's about time. There's a cover story of DOA4 in OXM, but I have yet to read it. I'll probably end up with DOA4 anyway, and let that be my one fighting game for next gen.

I'm not sure about an action game using the same engine as a fighting game. I hope Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks isn't using MK Deception's engine, because MKD's engine sucked, especially with the animation.

For Ninja Gaiden 2, I wouldn't mind having Ayame as an unlockable playable character. If I remember right, she was/is a part of Hayabusha's clan, or a friend.

I'm going to pass on Ninja Gaiden Black. I still have the original NG, and since I didn't have a problem with the camera and don't need more costumes for this particular game, I'll let it sit on the store shelf. It is going to be $29.99, but I'm expecting the MGS3: Subsistence to be around the same price (better be, or I will not buy it). If so, I'd rather get MGS3: S instead.

Tekken vs. DOA would never happen simply because Itagaki is carrying a grudge against Namco. It all goes back to when apparently someone from Namco badmouthed DOA. After that, it was all out jihad.
