Hmm, that's uh... interesting. WTH? Well, it definitely doesn't look good, I can only hope its comfortable to hold. Well, at least, its wireless.

Yeah asthetic really aren't so important to me as the actual fell of the thing, I doubt it will be uncomfortable, to me at least, but heck I have never had a problem with any controller since the atari 2600, i guess i can easily adapt. To me the n64 controller was the most comfy so far of systems I have played, followed by the dual shock.

LOL CHRIST that's not the actual controller is it?! And you all made fun of MSs Duke controller?

Hmmm! I don't mind the look of it really! But I have to admit that I really like the Xbox 360 Controller...that is sharp...The triggers and B&W buttons are a wicked configuration!

the 360 controller decks it in the looks department, but I gotta say, the PS3 console itself is much nicer looking.

I'm more curious about how it handles...

This thing is a horrible design, it looks like the handle bars on some futuristic tricycle. Well, its a good thing they are launching in 2006, at least they have time to redesign this thing, especially before Batman finds out about this.

Its Bluetooth, in contrast to the XBOX 360 2.4Ghz Spread-spectrum frequency hopping controllers. At this point i'd say 2.4G spread spectrum technology is more reliable. It probably uses a pseudo-random noise code which means no interference what so ever from other radio devices, and the 2.4G means reliable distance. Bluetooth is nice, but I have a bluetooth headset for my phone, and its not the greatest reception quality or distance. But i'm sure Sony has tested it and it will work fine, but I still think the 2.4G technology is more reliable.

As far as other features, you will be able to turn on the XBOX 360 with the controller. Recharge the battery by connecting it to the 360 while you play, or use 2AA batteries. Adjust the force feedback, and they are doing some funky things with that X Button in the center of the controller, developers will be able to program to do a variety of functions. And finally you can use cell phone headsets for XBOX LIVE.

Not much info on the PS3 controllers, aside from supporting 7 of them(that is a weird number) it has 4 usb ports on the front of the console and 2 in the back. Both consoles this time are USB compatiable. But so far Sony hasn't said if the PS3 will be compatiable with PC peripherals. The XBOX 360 apparently will be. The most obvious advantage of this is Flight Sticks, like Thrustmaster peripherals and racing wheels. And maybe for those kybd/mouse relics they will get that too.

That shape is just too damn weird. Xbox 360 controller looks a hell of a lot better. I just hope it feels comfortable but the extra long bars at the bottom give me a bad feeling.

Damnit, I hoped they'd finally learn to offset the two analogs the way the MS and Wavebird controllers do. Ergonomically, it sucks; they needed to swap the left analog and D-pad around, even if it uglied it up even more.

I dont get it.

What was WRONG WITH THE CURRENT CONTROLLER ?!! I've havent heard one complaint about that.

Wait no...heres one, they dont last long. 2 of my PS1 controllers got F'ed up, it wasnt like they were being thrown around, sooner or later they just stop working. Did anyone else have this problem? First it was the X button then the entire controller.

But back to the original topic: Ewww...

That is what i am wondering. I wonder if it is just a prototype for hypes sake to get people jazzed up for it and then go back to the tried and true controller.

I don't really care if that's the controller or not. After gaming across so many platforms, I've gotten used to having to adapt to different controllers. Now, if it doesn't provide functionality for some game genre's like the GC controller, then I'll be pissed.

I too have had troubles with the Dual Shock series of controllers. One of my DS2s just shorted out suddenly and stopped working altogether. It's only happened to one DS2 out of 3 DS2s I have, though.

It's terrible and not because it looks like the Batarang! The problem is like Gadfly said the analogue sticks aren't offset and for someone who loves shooters it's a huge set back.
