Since the official announcement of the 360 the Milkdrinkers and Kitties have been out in full force. All kinds of unfounded speculation and just plain nonsense.

A lot of hate has been thrown out towards the games coming out during launch of the 360. Do any of you remember the PS2 launch what was there that was innovative Madden? SSX? Smugglers Run? X squad? Track and Field? Timesplitters? Tekken Tag? Do you people actually believe that Sony is going to launch with some grand new game genre? Gedddafugouddahere! Go to the IGN PS3 site all the games there are going to be out a year earlier on the 360! Of course there will be the incredibably innovative MGS4 and GT5 can't wait for those.

"I'm not supporting the 360 because MS is killing the Xbox" (of course you really haven't supported it in the last 4 yrs but anyway). First thing about the Nvidia shipment how do we know that MS doesn't have enough product from Nvidial to last them till 2007? And why will 3rd parties stop support there 20+ million Xbox consoles out there now Xbox Live will still be up and running so although MS has stated there 1st parties are moving on I can't think of one legitmate reason for them to stop supporting the consoles. But teh Xbox is DEAD!!!!!

I honestly can't wait for the PS3 launch because when they launch with a bunch of 3rd party games that have been out for about a year on the 360 and 4's and 5's to established franchises I want to hear the same gripes. Of course then it will be all about the extra frame rate or higher resolution because of the cell.

And finally this thread of logic has being going through the Milkdrinker camps. This time the PS3 will have all the support from the PC devs that the Xbox had but Xbox 360 will get none of the Japanese support the PS2 had? Yeah that's non biased and perfectly logical way of thinking

P.S. The PSP will be compatiable with the Xbox 360 can't wait for developers start making games that have connectivity with both consoles that's going to be a riot!

You have wowed me with sheer logic. I will now rush out and buy Xbox 360 the day it is launched. I will have oh so much fun playing Perfect Dark Zero and Madden 2006. I will proceed to wonder what it could have been like to play a FPS and a sports title on the original Xbox, if only those kinds of games were available for it.

Zilla made this comment in his Pre-E3 post that makes a whole lot of sense as to why X-box 360 may not get all the support it will need:

"To start things off, I did manage to get a small piece of gaming gossip from my friend at Vivendi. When I mentioned that I was looking forward to Half Life 2 on the Xbox, she told me not to bother. I asked her why and she said that although it was a great port, a PS3 version is in the works. According to her, the PS3 version not only looks and plays better, but there's some nifty extra content. [B] I've also been informed that a lot of developers are shifting titles previously meant for the 360 over to the PS3, due to its power and the copmplications of developing for the 360's multiple processors.[B] I'm curious to ask the designers at the show see if this is indeed true. I'll let ya know..."

As everyone knows around here the PS2 took a lot of flak for being very difficult to make games for mainly because of the multiple co-processors it had with the EE. Multiple processing is nothing new to the computer industry and has been around for years. But this technology is used mainly for servers and powerstations and not for gaming. Developers just did not develop games to take advantage of multi-processor comps because they are very difficult to program for. So now the roles are really reversed. It looks like the PS3 will be the console that will be more powerful and easier to program for and the X-box 360 and possibly the Revolution will be this generation's EE award recipients.

Half life 2 on the PS3 will have no impact the game may be damn near 3 yrs old by then. How much of an Impact did the orginal HL have on the PS2.

The PS3 will also have it's own variation of multiple processors the Cell that was shown to the public had some thing like 9 cores. All the consoles will have this environment to deal with this time. But the Xbox has the advantage of having years of experience with XNA (Direct X).

Didn't MS introduce some development philosophy called XNA that is supposed to make programming simpler and more compatible between the XBOX360 and PC's? I sort of recall something like this a couple months ago.

Sounds like Zilla's tidbit indicates developers jumping ship and swimming w/PS3 because its easier to program for. I wonder if the 360 will only cater to PC developed titles and not favor console specific development?

I own a PC, I want my gaming machine to offer something different. Too soon to really tell how this will all shake out.
