So who is this chang 3 guy sony is promoting so much? I am sure it can't be change unless maybe sony finally decides to not make a sub par product this time around and hype the crap out of it to sell it initially with FMV that makes the media think that is what the actual games will look like. I guess we shall see here in just a few short hours.

LOL! That's what I thought as well. Who's Chang and how does he rate to get all the good stuff? Its supposed to be Welcome ChangE. On some of the ads I've seen its a greyed out E not a 3. So, its Welcome Chang3 is supposed to be Welcome change in the ps3, I guess.

I don't think people will see all that much. Kaz will be there with his powerpoint slides detailing the success of the ps2, the launch of the psp and there will be a 10 to 15 mintue segment tops on the ps3. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ok now I see the change... sony is actually supporting up too 7 controllers out of the box on this one wow 7 way split screen? (although maybe dual video out) anyway the rest is the same with the over bloated theoretical specs that really mean a whole lot of nothing until we see some real world usage of them, as well as a whole lot of pointless multimedia ports that will never be used.

Well, you can pan all you want, but bluetooth wireless is interesting. Apple is big on bluetooth. Its an established wireless standard, not proprietary and is used for keyboards, mice, pdas, you name it. A lot of usb 2.0 ports. Hdmi you need for HD, everything's going to be headed towards HDMI. Your progressive component rca jacks are on their way out. The mem card/ stick support is probably one slot that accepts all the varying formats. You think people would be going cool, I can use whatever I want, but, no, more complaints. What I like is all these ports and connections and technologies are industry standard except for the obligatory a/v multi out connector.

Even the layout of the design is highly conventional. Sony has moved from 4MB of on-die vram on a graphics synthesizer, that had few to any graphics hardware functions to a full blown next gen GPU with 256MB of dedicated video ram. That's a big step up.

They're using industry standards for develoment tools like Open GL and nvidia's Cg shader language. This machine is going to be a lot more developer friendly than the ps2. I don't see anything here that I would label a disappointment. Why 7 controllers, I have no idea, that's an odd number. B/C check. HD, check, although I want more details. Blu-ray, check.

What they need now is the same for everyone, bring out the games, set a date and a price and since we're talking 2006, I don't think we're going to know that for a while.

I am just being pissy cause I want to see some games for this thing, as I will probably be getting it if only to play all the ps2 games I have ;) Anyway how cool would it be if the thing could output to 7 different displays (1 core per persons as far as the computations) although they would have to come out with some 7 way video splitter.

Well, this just in.

To show off the PlayStation 3's graphical brawn, Sony showed several game demos, including an Unreal 3 tech demo of what appeared to be Unreal Tournament 2007. In what must come as a relief to developers, Epic Games' Tim Sweeney was on hand to vouch for the PS3, saying it was "easy to program for" and that Epic had received its first PS3 hardware two months ago. He proved the tech demo was real time by showing it again and manipulating the camera and zooming in.

However Sweeney's words were only the beginning. Later, Sony trotted out a whole host of publishers who are backing the PlayStation 3--and in the process confirmed several games for the console. Hideo Kojima introduced Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4, Capcom showed off Devil May Cry 4, Namco unveiled Tekken 6, Polyphony Digital trotted out Gran Turismo 5, SCEE showed off a brutal demo of the next Killzone.

I'm going to have to get a download of this keynote if possible.

Will do, but it'll probably be tough to find it tonight. I have all three from last year on my hard drive, so I'd like all three from this year for comparison purposes. Last year, sony's keynote was unbelievably dry and boring. Looks like they goosed things up. The most interesting one should be nintendos, can't wait to see what nintendo is going to come up with.

They're playing with words again the way they did waaaay back when the original PS launched. Remember? "U R not E" and the "E" was colored red which translated to "You are not Ready".

And as for the system itself, it is a technological BEAST, but how much is thing gonna cost? If its less than $400 I will be floored.
