This game was in development so long I thought it was canned. But it's coming out next month.

Yeah man! Survival Horror is one of my favorite genres. I like action adventure with the emphasis on adventure.
Ya it's coming to PC, Xbox and PS2

It's funny how you always ***** about the gameplay in Resident Evil yet you say that Survival Horror lived and died by the one that was almost nigh on impossible to control.
I remember dying so many freakin times in that game just cuz your guy turns and moves about as fast as a pregnant diesel truck on quaaludes. "Oh crap! A zombie! He's 15 miles away, hope I can turn around and aim my shotgun fast enough"!
I gotta give it credit. It was really atmospheric, and there were alot of great ideas in it that were all but ignored the more recent survival horror games...but you have to admit that RE had much smoother gameplay.

LOL! thanks for reminding me. I forgot how horrid the controls and aiming was in that game. I played it on PC and 3DO. I played AITD4 on the DC. It copied RE in so many ways and had some glaring flaws that really left it unable to compete in the genre. It lived and died alright. Like it or hate it AITD may have been the first, but RE set the standard.

Personally, I really enjoyed AITD4 on the DC. It is one of the few games I did enjoy on the DC. Guess everyone has there own tastes.

Did you experience this bug at the end where you get stuck in the body of the final boss? I don't know how this happened to me but as the zombie was swiping at me, his character model and mine collided and we basically became stuck together. Neither of us could move apart from the zombie's frequent swipes which didn't connect. I used up all my ammo trying to dislodge us but nothing happened.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the game even though I only played the guy's storyline. But it had some glaring imbalances, especially concerning the weapons, backtracking and regenerating monsters was brutal beyond normal and as the game worn on it became less and less engaging to a very anti climatic boss fight at the end. It had great atmosphere, a good story (lots of reading) great sound, good puzzles and great graphics, minus the water effects, but the package was not nearly as tight as the RE series is, considering how much it borrowed from RE. The last third of the game felt rushed and buggy.
I didn't experience the bug you did Slalde. :p Do you still have the game?

Nah, I got rid of the game some time ago. I think I traded it in with a couple other games for Metroid Prime last year.

Adult Swim took a swipe at the DC and Blue Stinger last night... they said when they first heard of Blue Gender they thought it was anime based on the crappy Dreamcast game, but that was Blue Stinger. The difference being, one sucks, and the other is good. =P Then later they apologized for the crack about the DC.

Haven't watched Adult Swim for a while. I value my sleep too much. And watching anime on television is just so blah.

I know what you mean. But I'm at work when that stuff comes on and we have a TV in our dept. :D and the love story between Inuyasha and Kogomei really sucked me in.

Going slightly offtopic and steering it back towards the original post (I don't watch much anime so I can't comment)...
I thought that AITD4 was a fairly fun little game. It wasn't brilliant by any stretch of the word, but it kept me entertained. You have to give it some props for that, at least.
I'd say it was easily worth the 10 bucks I paid for it.

Haha, found you, you tricksy devil.
I knew I remembered somebody mentioning InuYasha. Anyways, I hope he gets together with Kikyo somehow. I like that relationship so much better.
