Im looking for a game title with a creppy atmosphere, something that would be enjoyed played with the lights out. Cramped areas, dim lighting & the ocassional "scare the crap out of you" moments needed.

Would Area 51 be a good choice or???

Is there anything for the 'box that would equal the PC version of Alien vs Pradator for thrill factor? [I viewed the trailer of 'boxes version of AvsP, but was dissapointed with the well lit openess of the game :( ]

You just described Doom 3. If you're a PC gamer, then I'm sure you've already played it. If not, then I would recommend it, though the multiplayer and co-op are online only.

Hell with FPS horror games. Go with the 3rd person action-adventure games. SIlent Hill 4 is good for a twisted and creepy tale. You can never go wrong with a Silent Hill game, IMO. 4 is the one to start on if you've never playd a SH before. It's also my fave.

Fatal Frame 1 and 2 are also great, especially for the"scare factor" that you're craving. Slow on the pacing as far as action is concerned, but plenty of OH CRAP! moments playing and watching scenes. The voice acting in part one is pretty hard to stomach, though.

Too bad you don't have a Cube. Eternal Darkness, RE remake, and RE4 are tops for creeps and scares.

RE4?! Pfffft. That game is hardly scary at all. And if I'm saying that...

If you haven't already played Doom 3, E.T., I'd say that's the game you're looking for. Shooting-wise, yeah it's just meh... but the atmosphere and the "bump-in-the-night' spooks are the bestest evar!

Area 51? I-I-I-I-I don't think so.
