Damn......that thing is huge. Compare its size to that of the controller.

And MS said they were going to make it smaller.

Yeah, that is odd. You'd think that given all the stuff they took out of it, it'd be slim-PS2 sized :p

Huge?? Given the size of an Xbox S controller, the unit in the picture is considerably smaller than the current Xbox. Notice the size of the disc tray. The tray spans 3/4 of the length of the console. The current Xbox drive tray spans less than half of the of the front of the unit. I would say this new unit is quite small given the supposed stuff inside.

I have to say it looks very ugly. I hope they spruce up its looks before launch.

Wow. And folks have made fun of the way some of the Nintendo stuff looks.

This thing manages to look like both a Fisher Price toy AND a PC mini-tower at the same time.

And it is huge relatively speaking. . . don't let the "disk tray" fool you. The black part around the tray is actually much wider than the disk slot itself.

I've seen a close-up of the controller and well, its the same thing as what they have now. The black and white buttons are history, and from the shot you can't see the shoulder buttons, but aside from that not a whole lot new. The question becomes if xbox 360 is indeed b/c, how is this achieved since wireless is standard. Do you use the new xbox controller? Shoulder buttons aren't quite the same as triggers and where's the black and white button functionality.

Well, the whole platinum and white look is so apple-ish. Unfortunately, the design isn't going to win any points for beauty. All MS really had to do is shrink that xbox down and make it a little sleeker in design. Not rethink it as some future age space appliance.

Now all Microsoft has to do is announce that they are releaseing multiple versions of the console and that b/c isn't a feature... That will just about seal M$ fate.

I think it looks like the old Pentium 1 Compaq Presario system unit, just on its side!

I don't think it looks too bad! I can't see the "Xbox 360" Logo on the door though!

Anyone else notice that there looks to be only 1 infrared port for the controllers? I wonder how many it can support at one time...

Well, Xbox 360 specs were leaked... However, the mods at the forum deleted the post so I can't post a link. What I read is...

-Xbox 360 will had DVD-RW built in. As well as Mp3 and a bunch of other stuff.

- Xbox Live will have two services; Silver and Gold. Silver will be free on the weekends, but Gold will be the same as live now, but will offer a lot more meat.

As far as tech spes, I really am clueless. But there wasn't any real surpises. I'll see if I can find a link...

If those stats really are true, that's gonna be one hell of a powerful console. It's about 10 times stronger than my current PC, though with less memory.

3 cores means basically that it has 3 processors. Since it's clocked at 3.2 Ghz each, that would be like having three 3.2 Northwood prescott Intel CPUs with HT. It has 2 threads per core, so that would make it similar to having dual channel memory, meaning there are 6 paths total from the processing units to the memory.. no wonder it has a blazing 22.4GB/s memory bus. For comparison, PCs of the last gen only typically have something like 6.4GB/s.

I'm not sure what 10MB DRAM is supposed to be for. It already has 512MB DDR3.

It has a 1MB L2 cache, which is sort of like a place for data to come in before going into the CPU proper. Modern PCs today with Athlon 64 3200s or better and Prescott Pentiums 3.2 and up only have this much l2 cache, my PC 3 gens old only has 256kb L2 cache.

I am abit confused as to what the video processing unit is. Is it that VNX-128 vector thing? Does that mean it has 3 GPU units? 9 billiondots per second is pretty fast, my Radeon 9800 Pro can only do 3 billion dots per second.

21.6GB/FSB is incredible, my FSB only goes up to 3.2GB/s

What's MNz though? Meganertz?

Sound card is pretty primitive though, at only 16-bit since most PCs today are equipped with Audigy 2 ZS-class cards that are 24-bit. The number of channels though is mindboggling, if not silly. 256?! Audigies only go up to 64. What do you need 256 discreet channels for?
