Are they going to change all EB game stores names to Gamestop now?

This is good and bad (mostly bad), depending on if EBGames has to start using Gamestop's policies.

The Good- Used games can be returned to EBGames

The Bad- Even less trade in credit than before, less new games in store, bad trade-in deals (ex. trade in 4 Xbox RPGs and receive Fable free....during the time, I don't think there were even 4 total RPGs on Xbox, were there? Definitely not 4 that people would actually hold on to)

The Ugly- Being harassed at two stores about pre-orders now

EB and Gamestop may turn into stores that are only useful for finding some older cheap game, for me anyway. They're not even good for pre-ordering those "Limited or Collector's Edition" games anymore, because the LE or CE of Halo 2, Jade Empire, Doom 3, and SC: Chaos Theory are still around on store shelves.

Used games can still be returned to EB games. Just tear off those ugly yellow stickers.

They changed that policy at my EBGames. Now, they put a clear sticker on the side where the game opens, and as soon as that is torn.....no return. It even leaves some sticky crap on the box, and the sticker will not re-stick. It sucks, but it's those type of things make me glad I don't buy a lot of used games nowadays, since it only makes EBGames (and Gamestop) money instead of the game industry.

Not sure how this affects Canada. I don't know of any gamestops here.

any time there is a decrease in competition it's bad for gamers. gamestop is a Barnes and Noble company, and I worked for b and n for two years, and the sad fact is that they out and out lie to people. it's not the fault of the store employees, it's corporate policy to lie to store managers regarding product availability. they do this when their buyers cannot get the wholesale price they want for an item.

i used to tell people a book they were looking for was unavailable, then they would go to waldens and buy it then bring it in and show it to me.

i remember when the gc first came out, and pso was 1st available, i went to gamestop wanting to buy a gc modem. they had none and they gave me this line about how nintendo no longer made them, yadda yadda. so i went to eb's in the same mall and they had plenty. later on i went to frys and they had them also.

btw, my typing is weird due to being bitten by a black widow saturday. it sucks. wahhh.

I was just thinking that myself. I live in the GTA and have never seen a Gamestop. The only GS I have visited is the one on Military road in Niagra Falls Newyork!.....I even said at the time that they remind me of EB alot!

My Gamestop has a problem with having extra titles to sell, especially when they are just released. They seem to cover just enough for the pre-orders, while EBGames would have a stack of a new release, just waiting for walk-in customers to buy.

I hope this doesn't affect the fact that i just paid $5 for one of them 10% off used games cards at EB. If so screw them bastards. I never would have got it but I decided too as I have been buying alot of used games lately.

Can Zombies type? If you were playing Resident Evil and a Zombie was sitting at a keyboard discussing butt-fungus at an undead hygene forum, would it be unethical to blow the zombie away, or would you have to wait until he went for your brains?

Guess it depends who you are. (And if you've got brains.)

You'd probably try to train him, make him docile, give him flowers, teach him to do tricks - like thinking and acting differently than everybody else, but then complain about it and put people down for not thinking and acting like him.

I'm sure slade would drop an Xbox on his head... unless it was a Japanese zombie, then he'd play with it.

Wacko would run circles around it screaming "MS dumped this but kept that" - and keep it up until it rotted.

I myself, would go out and find another zombie, grab it by the ankles, bring it back, swing it, and crack both their skulls together, killing them both in fell swoop - which not only would be like killing two birds with one stone it, but it would also help me save my precious ammunition for the real brain-dead, the MS/Xbox hata's.

Is that what those things are for? I have a stack of empty DVD cases lying around that I substitute for the actual case that comes with the game. It works wonders for those situations where the sticker is stubborn and leaves stains on the plastic covering when I take it off.

I got one of those myself but the guy gave it to me for free. I sure hope I can get some use out of it.
