Nintendo's Response to Upcoming games and Ideas

George Harrison, senior vice President of marketing, Nintendo of America: As the video game industry continues to grow, the demographic of its audience is also expanding. In the past, nearly all gamers were young males -- guys like you who are very enthusiastic about playing games, driven to master them, and passionate about keeping up with the latest products.

Today, the video game industry's annual revenue surpasses even other traditionally monstrous entertainment fields such as movies and music. Gaming has now clearly reached the mainstream tipping point, and entirely new markets of gamers are becoming receptive to the idea of purchasing a game for themselves. As such, Nintendo is doing its best to service the loyal and hardcore fans who've made video games their number one entertainment choice but also to expand the industry past it's traditional boundaries.

Naturally, Nintendo will continue to create products to thrill the avid gaming market, such as The Legend of Zelda and Geist for GameCube and Mario Kart for Nintendo DS. You don't have to worry about Nintendo not continuing to create these bigger-budget titles that give fans exactly what they want. It's not only a core business for us but it's the heart of what Nintendo's development teams love to do. You can be confident that we'll continue to push this type of content on current and future systems.

But in addition to expanding upon the genres and experiences that players already know and love, Nintendo is pushing to take games into new directions. Products such as Nintendogs and Electroplankton for Nintendo DS are original enough to not only excite the hardcore audience but to intrigue people who don't traditionally play games. As video games take their place as a primary entertainment option for all ages, both genders and every conceivable taste, Nintendo wants to be the leaders in sales and innovation. So don't worry -- as we expand our product line-up to match the expanding industry, we'll also continue to push the envelope to bring hardcore fans even bigger Nintendo adventures. And hopefully, a number of adventures they could have never imagined before they saw it play on a Nintendo system.

First, the continue upgrade if of existing titles with upgrade in graphics.

Genre: Female

Maria Sisters, Maria Kart, Maria Golf, Paper Maria, Waria World, Luisa Mansion, Super Smash Sisters, Ms Konga, Linka: A Princess Destiny, etc. It will be existing and new titles switch with female charaters and more girly world.

Genre: Jewish Market
PikaJews and PokeJews: It just Pokemn, Pikachu and Friends wearing a Jewish Cap.

Mature Titles:
Animal Dumpings, Links: Blood Warrior, Massacre Metroid Prime. Luigi Cell, Star Fox for Duty

You know Nintendo, they have to think of more creative and innovation so Nintendo Fanboys can brag about. They have to use the flagship and known gaming character trademarks in new directions. My concern for the big N is that while they attempy to woo soccer moms their core fan base will blow town on them. If the controller does not intimidate a 45 year old mother of 3 I doubt I'll want to play it.

Which is it? Can't it be both, sort of ? Nintendo themselves are doing extremely original stuff, especially if you've been paying any attention to what's going on, and what's coming up, on the DS.

And they've gotten some seriously violent gory games from other developers, like RE4 and Eternal Darkness. But no, they haven't had that one true "shocker" like GTA to grab headlines and "the masses." At this point, dude, what do you think is going to still shock anyone? I mean in GTA, you club people to death, have sex with hookers, and then blow their brains out afters to get your money back. You think Nintendo is going to come up with something more controversial than that? About the only place left to go would be to make a game where the Hero is a serial pedophile rapist murderer and you get more points the more kids you do, and then kill. Seriously, that's just about the gutter where Rockstar has taken us.

What is funny is that in the in the middle east there are a lot of conspiracy minded folks, and I'm not joking here, I've seen it seriously proposed that Pikachu is part of a Jewish plot to promote evolution and Jewish superiority (the charachter even uses subliminal messages. . . he actually says "Be a Jew" not "Pikachu.)

The depths of human stupidty never cease to amaze me. It's one of the worst conspiracy theories ever. . . even worse that that stupid one widely believed in the middle-east that all the Jewish workers in the world trade center were warned before the planes hit.

Since in America we can no longer practice humor, mention race in conjuction with a game (unless its GTA San Andreas or The Godfather--which has the racist audicity to imply that the mafia has Italians in it. . . . we can still practice our first ammendment rights to criticize goverments and their actions, I hope.

It would be a sad day if someone confused criticism of Israeli the goverments fascist, racist and illegal war crimes against the palestinians as an "anti-semitic" point of view. And I'm sure it'll come up again when EA makes a First Person war game were you get to bulldoze over people's homes to build illegal settlements.

Sadly, too many people play the racial victim card in order to try and deprive people of their rights to free speech as a tactic to shut down any point of view or attitude they disagree with.

The Isreali/Palestinian conflict is one of those situations where no matter which side you take...you're wrong. It's hard to choose which side is right when you consider the huge chain of events that's come about beforehand. These people have been screwing each other over since the dawn of time, and they really don't want to give it up.

Most people choose sides based on their political leanings more than any real reasoning behind it. If you're a liberal chances are good you'll take the "omg the human tragedy perpetrated against the Palestines" route, if you're conservative you'll take the "all their neighbors have tried to wipe them off the face of the planet in the past, they have a right to defend themselves" path. But if you look at both sides objectively you'll come to realise that there isn't really any real side to choose. Both governments hate each other, both are willing to turn a blind eye towards certain atrocities, and neither one wants peace when it comes right down to it.

The only guarentee is that innocent people will suffer. It's tragic, it's hopeless, it's the Middle East...birthplace and current cess pool of human drama.

Edit: Oh yeah..the term "fascist" is bandied around WAYYYY too often nowadays.

Well, MoronToday singled out "the Jewish Market" - which is the only ethnic culture he made his "funny" comments about. This also isn't the first bigoted remark I've noticed that the moron has made. So when you add those two factors together, yeah, I'm offended that a known bigot is making jokes about my ethnic group.

It's one thing to tease every culture and ethnic group, ala Trey Parker and Matt Stone with South Park, and it's another thing entirely to focus on a single group. I'm sure everyone wouldn't find it so funny if he had mentioned "the Negro Market" and said some racial alterations of Nintendo titles.

There is a difference between criticizing government actions and insulting an ethnic group.

Also, Palestinians have also participated in fascist, racist, and illegal war crimes against Israelis as well - both sides have done unspeakable atrocities against each other, it's not so black and white as Israel is "bad" and Palestine is the "poor victim".

Unless you actually condone Palestine's use of terrorism, in which case you should reevaluate some of your priorities.

Don't take this the wrong way, but, this is complete bull****.

The First Amendment is directly related to allow the press, and other medias, to publish or air ideas and ideals without infringement from the Government.

What Free Speech ISN'T is a free pass for any schmuck to say whatever they want, when they want - you can't yell "FIRE!!" in a crowded building, for instance. Or incite people to perform violent acts.

But in terms of System Wars - there is specific rules of conduct we've all agreed to follow - no flames, no harassment, no abusive posts, etc, etc. I don't see you complaining about "free speech" in those terms, so get off of it.

A known bigot making ethic jokes is what I consider to be abusive, so in terms of System Wars, it's unacceptable.

I think Nintendo are the rule and should be respected. Sure Xbox and PS2 have all the games but Nintendo started the whole "difference in gaming" back on the NES, Nintendo may not be the latest and greatest but they still offer a great gaming experience and some cool innovation!

I agree. I was going to go back in and remove it but I was too late. There are clearly times the word applies, and other times its lazy and inflammatory, like my use below.

I have a lot I could say about the palestinian/israeli conflict; I made a point to study the topic in great detail from both points of view, but you're right, its just thread derailment, it's boring, and I don't really care anymore who kills who on the planet over stupid and trivial things.
