Who's getting a PSP?

Not me. Not right away anyway. In fact, I probably won't be getting one for... quite... a... while. One reason, it's been my personal experience that Sony's quality control SUCKS. So I wouldn't get one right away anyway. But other reasons are the price(s). Upon further reflection, $250 - for everything I'll need system-wise - is too rich for my blood. But more than that... are those prices for the games! Ugh. $50?!? Even $40... ?!? Nuh uh! Thing is, I know the PSP is going to do well. Very well. So it could be ages before (any of) these prices drop to like-able levels.

What say you?

I'm getting one, but I'm gonna wait for the exactly same reasons as you. It'll give Sony some time to work out the kinks and bugs they should've caught in R&D, and by the time that happens all the first run titles I'm wanting will be nice and cheap.

I'll be picking mine up around the Halloween-Christmas season.

As of now, I'm going to say no. There's a possibility I could pick one up in the future, but not before not before I get a next gen console.

I agree with you guys on Sony's quality control. Hopefully, there will not many problems with the launch PSPs.

My birthday is in May, and I've already told various people what an awesome gift would be ;)

The Nintendo DS has really whet my appetite for more handheld gaming. I realize its like comparing apples and oranges the two are so different, but I hadn't planned on getting a PsP until I realized how enjoyable handheld gaming can be when you can actually see the game. PsP will be even better in that department.

So, I'm about 95% of the way there. I just have to make sure its comfortable for my hands, and see that there are no major flaws with the first batch. In May, if systems are available, I have a bunch of stuff I won't need anymore. . . my Xbox, its games and Donkey Konga/Jungle Beat and Bongos. . . that should pretty much get me a PsP.

The games are overpriced, but basically I just want Lumines and Smart Bomb and a couple others to start, and I'll still mostly be buying DS titles over the next 12 months like Meteos, Nintendogs, Advance Wars, Another Code, Castlevania DS, Animal Crossing, and undoubtedly some other things I haven't heard of or have forgotten.

Handheld gaming is starting to get really good, both systems. . .especially the DS. . are offering a different kind of experience than the consoles, and you can play anytime, anywhere, any place in the house, on the bus, waiting on a prescription to be filled. . . you name it. Hand helds getting good have really revitalized electronic gaming for me, and for that reason more than any other I'm picking up a PsP despite price and reservations about quality control, battery life, etc etc etc.
