i once heard that if you go through the entire game not doing any of the tutorial-like instructions until the stage where you fly the banshee and escort the scarab, you have to do the tutorials while in the banshee. I know i unlocked it at one point. maybe that's how I did it.

or something like that.

if you have xbox live, you can also update your game and it will unlock it for you cuz bungie thought the unlocking meathod was too difficult to figure out.
