A new game/anime/toy store opened up close to me called GameZone, and I stopped by there today.

They had a couple of DS import games on the shelf. With one I did not recognize the images on the front or back, but the other is called Chokkan Hitofude, and I recognized the artwork as being the upcoming English language game Polarium.

I am so tired of not having any game choices for the DS that I bit on this one. It seems to be several related stylus based puzzle games. The one that I have so far figured out is very original and quite addictive, actually on the same level as Bejeweled and Tetris, though it has no gameplay similarities to those games.

The other was a music game of some sort. If you have a GameZone close to you, they probably have import games if you want to check them out.

Good to hear you are digging Polarium. My wife and I both want that one very badly--we're a couple puzzle addicts.

If you figure out anything more about the music game, let us know. I'm with you there on the frustration over current lack of gaming choices on the DS. I'd pick up the import Polarium since it doesn't look to have any real language aspects, but it's supposed to see a US spring release isn't it?

I was planning to get the English version, too. I may do so still, because this is one deep puppy! It's very hard to even describe it. But I'll try with the one game I've gotten to feel comfortable with.

This is a single player game, there are multiplayer games as well. Basically, you are presented with a double screen full of white tiles and black areas that form patterns. You tap/draw your own patterns in order to turn black to white and white to black, so as to make a solid line(s) of one color or the other across the of the screen (bottom or middle, makes no difference...I think). Doing so clears them, and more patterns drop from above. The top screen serves as a preview screen of incoming patterns.

There are tons of indecipherable screens and other games. But one thing of note, the tiles are too small for a q-tip, so I have to use the stylus (there are tons of tiles). Also, the guy at the store told me this was server supported online game in Japan via wi-fi hotspot. I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know that some of the indecipherable stuff looked like a log on sequence that wasn't connecting.

I'm out of town for a good while in a couple of days, so I'll have plenty of time in motel rooms trying to figure this out. I said it before, but it bears repeating, this is one very deep package.

I have a deep package for you :P Actually meteos, polarium., that plankton game and puppy times are looking to be some totally cool and some very niche games I may have to get them all.
