Can YOU upload your avatar?

Im still having problem w/uploading avatar.
I decided to do it the easy way [sans the photo compression for now] & upload a VERY SMALL 50 pixel/15000 byte avatar, in GIF format. [current requirements are 80 pixels/20,000 bytes or less & GIF or JPEG format].

I confirmed file type & size, saved it to my desk top & uploaded but...NO LUCK! I get Vbulletin message "Failed upload, check to see if file qualifies.."etc.

[1] Can someone attempt to upload their own avatar & get back to me on their results please?


[2] Are we stuck with our initial choice of avatars OR can we change them at will?

I have a very similar problem...

Mine's small too. Like 64 by 64 pixels and I'm trying to upload it by using an internet address. But it just keeps on failing. :(

I don't know why.

Ive been trying since board opened with a variety of avatars & formatting. SBS also had similar problem earlier, though he seems to have posted some low capacity avatar for now...HEY SBS! how did you finally get your avatar posted? [I used Laras suggetion to you].

Im sure in time itll get worked out, irregardless of where the failure lies.......

Thanks for responding Fragmaster.I just posted my pic on my webpage, and uploaded from there. Most likely RG did too, and it may be that RtR took his from another website as well. Hmmm, just chatted to RG, turns out he uploaded his (from the VGR boards). Make sure the image is under 6 Kb's or 100x100 pixels... Also, make sure you select Use Avatar in the option (Avatar) settings. It took me a couple tries, but I finally got the options to get it posted. Again, at first I didnt have the options, so it may just be buggy for now.

Am I on pot joints again? Of course not, Steve..and you wanna know why? It's cuz you keep getting to the damn weed before everyone else! I'm serious man, cuz of you pot prices in North America have been driven sky high cuz you keep bogarting it and keeping the crap in your fallout shelter/D&D Gameroom you call a basement. And anyway, I didn't edit my pic in photoshop..all that was done in freaking MS PAINT! Do you know how hard it is to draw a person using that? It's damn hard and I'm proud of it. DAMN PROUD!

Okay, in all seriousness for a sec. From what I've seen the only way you can get an avatar up is if you upload it directly to the VGR servers. I've tried linking to it from my webpage but for some reason it refused to show. I dunno if its because my internet connection has been acting funky today or if its something Lara and the rest of the admins have yet to fix but the only surefire way is to do what SBS said beforehand...

The copying/pasting internet address option didn't work, so I saved the avatar to my own computer. Then I uploaded it.

Thats what Ive been doing all along: saving avatar to my pc & the attemtpting to upload it here. Christ! Why wont it work for me?
As stated in opening thread, I HAVE followed all file requirements, size format etc.
