i recently bought flight simulator 2002 and was
thinkin of getting a joystick to play it with.

any of you guys play flight simulator 2002??

if so can you recommend a joystick to use with game?? i was thinkin of getting a Saitek X52 joystick, but after reading a few threads here im not sure now-DEADZONE.....!!! has this problem been solved?? (the threads ive seen are all a month or two old)

maybe i should get a x45 or a cyborg?

i want to be able to play some flight combat games on it too eg. cfs3 etc...and other games like bf1942.

I'd consider the Saitek X45 model based on your descritpion of need.
This two component flight controller was built primarily for flight sim users, but works well for games too. Both components are fitted w/numerous buttons, slide switches, rotary controls and top-hats[majority are programmable].
The stick has two top-hat controls, two triggers and three fire buttons [center fire button has Top Gun-style flip-cover, marked 'Safe']. The throttle offers two more fire buttons, two rotary controls, a rocker switch and two slide-switches, as well as a miniature TrackPoint-style nipple for mouse control. Overkill for gaming to be sure, but great for flight sims!

The X52 has a few more fire buttons & looks more pro, but for my money it would be the X45.

Happy Hunting!

I have a Logitech Wingman Force. I've always liked it, but it's an older joystick. I don't know how good the newer Logitechs are. I like the big, heavy base mine has. The only problem is that one of the keys is now less responsive, and I have to mash it. A lot of wear and tear.
