hi,

i recently bought flight simulator 2002 (2004 was out of stock!) and was thinking of buying an external hard drive and installing the game on it instead of my computers hard drive to save space on my laptop as its a fairly big game. (i only have about 10g space left on my computers hard drive).

but im just curious if anyone knows if this will work??- if i have the game installed on my external hard drive and the cd for the game in my laptops cd drive will it be 'compatible'-(cant think of the right word!!)

or is the external drive only for storing/backing up files and not for programs??

this may be a stupid question but i dont want to spend £100 on an external hard drive and then find out i cant use it for what i want. ( i will transfer all my games to the external hard drive if it works to free up space on my laptop)

my laptop is a compaq presario 2500 model 2541EU-hardly great but it does me!!

thanks to any replies.

p.s. any of you guys and gals play flight simulator 2002??
if so can you recommend a joystick or flight yoke to use with game?? i was thinkin of getting a Saitek X52 joystick, wat you think??

thanks again.......

It'll work, but depending on the speed and connection type of the external drive you might have some long load times and ingame hiccups to look forward to.

I've heard nothing but praise for the X52 so go for it.
