View Full Version : Jade Empire Delayed

I meant to post this about a week ago, but it appears that Jade Empire has been delayed.....for a whole month. New date looks to be late April. The good thing about it is there is now a limited (special) edition of Jade that will have an extra character and fighting style. Also, there's supposed to be one of those making of DVDs and a couple of demos from other MS first party games.
I have to wonder, is this limited edition really a LIMITED EDITION? Or will it be a Halo 2 limited edition, where someone can still go get the LE today if they wanted?

That's not too much of a bad thing, since there are already so many great games coming out in March.
Hell, I still have a backlog of games that I need to get that stretches back about six months.
Bonus DVD's are sweetness.

Yeah, I'm sorry Hunter, but when I first heard this news I was relieved.
Of course, that was back when I thought I was going to be getting Xenosaga II. And thus, assumed that I would still be playing that game well into March - of course. :o
Still, even without X-II, I'll gladly take the extra given to me here. Lord knows, I need it!
Actually, Jade Empire is not one of the games that I'm really looking forward too - but it is still a must have for me. It is a must play, period, imo.

Regarding the Limited Edition thing:
Anybody else getting sick of these already? The Halo 2 LE was also a must-have, as far I was concerned - and it ended up being well worth the extra $5 too - but now I'm starting to feel taken advantage of. "Sweetness"? Eh...errr...ahh...grrrr... I suppose. I mean, bonuses... extras... yeah, they're all sweet, sure, but the $55 price tag kind of sucks. Why can't it be $50 for the LE's, and $45 to $40 for the regs?!? "Sweetness"? You call a new character and an extra fighting style "sweetness"? Well... ...I agree. Dammit. I mean, how can I not that get that? These companies... they're getting me back for waiting for all those games to drop down to budget prices before buying them, I guess, huh? Neat.
Anyways, to answer your question about 'how limited is limited'... don't ask me - I don't know. :p I tell you though... it looks to me like the H2 LE's are starting to become scarce. That's not to say that they're not commonplace, but it looks like their numbers are dwindling. (The sales are, that's for sure.)

It has turned out to be a good thing, indeed, unless you are my wallet. March is going to look like a mini-November in terms of good games, possibly better. I'm thinking of getting two more games that month, mainly because of the deal I can get for them.

Is it because you just finished the dialogue heavy KOTOR II and may not want to read/listen to a lot of dialogue in a game for a while? I feel that way now, but as long as I don't jump back on KOTOR II before JE, I should be ok.

Surprisingly, the JE Limited Edition is showing up the same price as the regular JE on ebgames.com. After Halo 2, I don't even consider these things limited, more like a bonus. I do like the idao of bonus DVDs, but it would be better if they gave them out before the game ships. Seems like a non factor after the game is already out, that's why I passed on Halo 2 LE in favor of the box art of the regular Halo 2.
