View Full Version : Best xbox package on the market...
I'm looking to buy an Xbox at the moment, and there's far too many xbox bundle packages on the market right now. Does anybody know of any really good ones? I'm looking for 2 controllers, maybe Halo 2 (unlikely as it may be), a headset, and a subscription to live. My brother has offered to pay for the live and maybe the headset, but altogether I have $280 to spend. I could also probably beg the tax out of my mom, too...

Your best bet is the standard bundle with NCAA 2005/Top Spin. If you can find it, the best xbox live deal is for a 12 month starter package that includes Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Ghost Recon:Island Thunder. The games come in standard packaging.

"There's far too many bundle packages on the market right now"?
Hmm... I didn't know there were any. The sports bundle (the one with NCAA Football and Topspin) was the last bundle deal that I knew of, and it was discontinued right around the holidays; I don't think there are any left anywhere. My friend just bought an Xbox (finally :p ); we looked high and low for that bundle dealio, but everywhere we went they said they'd been sold out of them since before Christmas.
If you're not able to find it anywhere anymore and are left having to getting a base model then - everything being equal - I say go to GameCrazy. If you have one near you. (GameCrazy is the vg store in select Hollywood Videos.) They'll give you 12 free-game-rental coupons with purchase of a system. That's about a $42 value.
If you're thinking of going to CostCo or Sams Club for their bundle "deals", you might want to take a calculator to them first. They are no deal.

P.S.
The friend that I just mentioned (that just bought an Xbox)... I'm not sure if we're such good friends anymore... he's now cursing me for suggesting the Xbox and KOTOR - and for ruining his life. :p
