Well, I'm back from my trip, and I played FF1&2 on my DS almost every night in bed.

Firstly, the game(s) rock, by all means get them. I'll be doing a review when I finish FF2.

I found that I was able to play the game much longer on the DS due to the backlit screen and greater detail. Usually, for me, either eye or hand/wrist fatigue make a gaming session with a handheld RPG shorter than with a full size console. But, while lying down the DS rests perfectly on my abdomen resulting in almost no hand and wrist fatigue, and eye fatigue was nonexistent. I played for hours non-stop until I had to sleep.

It will be really nice to have DS specific RPGs available, but for right now, playing the GBA RPGs is a whole new experience with the bright display.

I feel the same way about both the comfort, ergonomics, and visibility. . . am playing Fire Emblem right now, and will be picking up Zelda: Minish Cap today. Hope to get Golden Sun and Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, but I'm also hoping by then there will be DS specific RPG's available.

I'm looking forward most to the new Square's new Mana game and to Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei. Well, actually, if Animal Crossing is considered an RPG (I see it listed that way sometimes) that's my most anticipated title of all, and my wife has already stated she wants her own DS when Animal Crossing is released. Hopefully there will be a system price drop by then.
