Well, I'm back from my trip, and I played FF1&2 on my DS almost every night in bed.
Firstly, the game(s) rock, by all means get them. I'll be doing a review when I finish FF2.
I found that I was able to play the game much longer on the DS due to the backlit screen and greater detail. Usually, for me, either eye or hand/wrist fatigue make a gaming session with a handheld RPG shorter than with a full size console. But, while lying down the DS rests perfectly on my abdomen resulting in almost no hand and wrist fatigue, and eye fatigue was nonexistent. I played for hours non-stop until I had to sleep.
It will be really nice to have DS specific RPGs available, but for right now, playing the GBA RPGs is a whole new experience with the bright display.
