I'm so infuriated with X2: The Threat....well actually not the game but Egosoft, not only have they produced a game that has huge critical bugs for quite a few users, heres my story.

#1 Brought game.

#2 Installed game

#3 Tried game, everything works, no voices at all

#4 Try offical forums techical help, a lot of people having same problem try fixes stated on forum faq

#5 Install a new audio codec and try everything as stated to the letter

#6 Try game again, still no voices

#7 Download patch 1.4

#8 Try game, crashes to desktop every time I try to start a game (title screen works but nothing else does)

#9 Uninstall the game and then re-install game, still crashes now, use system restore to go back to point before install the game, still crashs to desktop.

#10 My only chance to play the game, is to format windows and start over from scratch but since this uses up valauble windows activations WHICH software companys don't take into account its not worth it, my copy of windows only has 2 more activations left before I need to spend $200 on another copy of XP.

Tomorrow i'm taking it back and getting it exchanged because it simply doesn't work, period and i'm not taking any U.S ][ P.C gaming exchange policy BS

What do you think of Pirates?

Pirates! isn't a bad game, basically identical to the old version just revamped, unfortuntely can get a little boring after a while. Basically, not enough content to keep new gamers happy.

How much RAM do you have installed? I had constant crashes until I installed another stick of RAM, and now it runs fine.

1 gig, the game worked without voices before the patch, adding the patch totally killed it, doesn't matter I exchanged it

Too bad, it's a good game. :(

X2 almost gave me fits trying to configure it properly but I got it to work relatively easily. My problem was that my vid card wasn't up to task to play it smoothly. The real problem though was I was having trouble figuring out how everything worked. -_-;

Now the other game... Freelancer. That was a game I had fits trying to configure. No voices at all for me in this one. Or sound for that matter.
