Hoooolly Mooooly, I am definitely getting this for my GC. I have been a huge fan of rockman(megaman) since it first started on NES. I have played all of them except a very few.
The moral of this story is I CAN't WAIT!

that's pretty cool. I'd buy that if I had a GC.

All sounds great to me.Not enough to make me want to buy a GC though.Hell I would love to get my hands on a NES to play the old MegaMan games. The 1st one was the hardest and the best of them all IMO.

Hey, as if everybody wasn't going to buy this game anyway, but it sure is nice to get the bonus disk for pre-ordering. It is extremely cool to play the old 1982 Atari Star Wars for free. Maybe this wouldn't make any sense if you didn't play this when it was new. Are games on other systems bundling this cool packages of games (none was cooler than Ocarina/Masterquest for FREE.)
I'm looking much more fwd to this game that I had been originally--there is always the fear that a sequel really will just be more of the same. But the new Rogue Squadron--the fact that there are now 2 player co-op missions will really add something to this game that was missing. Not to mention 2 player dogfights; and finally the speeder bikes on Endor.
I hope we don't get a bunch of pointless comparisons, though, between this and KOTOR. They are so different; action fighter vs. RPG. Inevitably someone will though; probably somebody really with a very moody and moronic temperment.

Yeah, more ports of old games. Goodie. Those 8-bit graphics should go over well with today's generation of kids/gamers. Hope they dont wig out on the complex control scheme, shoot, jump. What's the point? I own 1-6 for my NES, but then again I am old school and a "hardcore" gamer if you will. I dont see the attraction for gamers of today unless Nintendo/Capcom are trying to attract the "nostalgia" crowd to the GC. I can understand putting an original of an updated game in as an unlockable, a la PDO, RTCW, that to me seems cool, but doing this? Only time will tell.

Or you could just play all of those games right now on your PC for free... Even the 2 arcade versions. Well, you would have to actually own 8 since it was a Saturn/PSX game, but the rest you could just DL.
I don't know, I'm just not a huge fan of compilations because the old school games are mostly best left in the old school. They are fun for a bit but are mostly just for nostalgic purposes. Like when I have a couple buds over and we play some old school Tecmo Bowl or MK II, just for kicks.

Hmmm. . .probably confused, yeah. I was just thinking the thread "its a good time to be a game cube owner" more than the megaman thing. I was just adding one more cool thing. Mostly, I had just gotten the pre-order disk and found it to be really cool but didn't think it needed its own thread. "Good to be a gamecube owner" discussing old-school goodness seemed a close match. Probably wasn't. Oh well.

This compilation is coming to PS2 as well. Wonder how many non-GC owners above are going to change their mind and get this for the PS2.
This is good news for me because I haven't played Megaman 1-8. I really got my start with the X series which they should have also included. I don't like PC emulators either since you can't get an adequate gamepad and playing on keyboard sucks.

I use my old PSX controllers on my comp, the ones without the analog. I find that best for old school gaming. You can get adapters for many of the old and new console controllers, that is why I like emulation so much. It's free and it's a good trip down memory lane.

Eh, I might have agreed with you two years ago but I find it too much work to hunt down an emulator and roms nowadays. Ntm, that the connector and PSX controller are liable to cost about as much as the MM collection without all the extra goodies.

Well, my 2 port PS adapter was about 5 bux, plus 4 bux shipping. So if the megaman collection is available for 9 bux, then yes, otherwise, no... Dude, I know a site that has been up for a long time, and still going. They have all the oldies, all the CPS1 and 2 games, all the neo geo games, all NES SNES GENESIS and so on. They just don't have newer stuff like GBA and N64. You just gotta be resourceful.

AWESOME! I wonder if it will sell as well as the sonic collection? Anyways, that's a surefire system seller this season and exactly what the cube needed!

A Mega Man compliation is a system seller? Doubtful. Might bring back some fun memories but I doubt it will sell systems. The young gamer's (the consumer's that the Mega Man Series is geared to) now-a-days want to play the games of today not 8 bit remakes.
What the cube needs is more NEW and diverse games and less POKEE, POKEE!!!

You bought it online? That explains it. May I have the website where you bought this and got the roms.
