Woot! Though I swear I have been to the "official" site a couple years back as well, and it didn't look like that at all.... Ahhh here we go- a blurb on the situation...
"After a lengthy reprieve, the H&D2 Official Site is back online in a more "flashy" style with loads of info about the game, and more. There are a few new screenshots, a screensaver, some downloadable wallpapers, an excellent FAQ, and even a couple of 360 degree panoramas from the game's Arctic and North Africa theaters."
Man, I wouldn't be getting your hopes up about this game Wolfbiscuits... this sounds like it could flounder and go tit's up at any moment. I love the game (especially when playing it), but I would hate to get disappointed if it get's cancelled. When you see a print ad, let me know... then you'll be certain the game is coming out!

My neighbor ordered it here:

I remember playing the original for the first time, awkward controls took some getting use to, but a fun game none the less.
Im still looking for H&D Deluxe.
Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=53306) have just put up a First Impressions article based on a couple of missions in the game. Looking good so far...

Article reads nice, hope its true regarding AI's improvement for following orders. I cant recall on original H&D if there was the "Lone Wolf" option of playing missions? [think not]
[moya, your Avatar looks very familiar, a political figure perhaps... :) ]

Yes, you could play H+D with only 1 person if you wished.

Now that I'm done with Vietcong and Mafia, I'm back to H+D again, the game I never finished. H+D Deluxe looks real nice with the improved graphics, though it's still dated. Played 15 of the 22 missions on my old pc. Now I'm having to start over from the beginning, but I'm already up to the third mission, so it shouldn't be long before I get to where I left off. Yes, the following orders is just as bad as I remember it. I sent some guys running to the end of the sewer in the second mission, and they turned around, climbed out, and ran above ground, lol.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others..." Food for thought!
Yeah, so I'm on a George Orwell tip at the moment, it's just a phase or something.

Yeah, thats the way I remember the team AI also, but its a fun game none the less [notice I didnt include it in my "so bad/so good" class].
The AI behaved like the enemy AI in the first Project I.G.I.
I thought some of the level designs [H&D] were above average for time..hell, for today.
Youre lucky to have the Deluxe, Im still searching for a viable outlet to purchase [two sources Amazon & CompUSA advertised it, but when I ordered it.."out of stock"]. I'll check EB tonight.
PS: Have you put your hand on your PSU lately?? Just joking AKU ;)

OK, [I both loath & have never used this expression, but I gotta use it now]: OMG! Youre talking about the Italian Prime Minister [coincidently?]!
Did you catch the expose on PBS regarding his court hearings [this summer] when he used your quotation above to the court defending his position reagrding conflict of interest [TV media monopoly]?...
It was a crack up to hear this poweful guy actually use this quote...
he made it in a serious manor, fully believing it would vendicate him!
Ok, back to conversation relative to gaming......
I wasn't talking about him in particular, but you're right, he is a total nut! Actually, there's good mileage to be had in many of his own quotes if you want examples of a world leader being ridiculously ignorant about the outside world in general (a la George Bush for example).

Good link moya, & I gotta say Euro politics are most entertaining.
I was shocked to witness Berlusconis trail of deciet & arrogance, the guy is a bold faced pig [depicted by your avatar].
I think half the world [at least the US half] is oblivious to what goes on in Europeon Politics.....Prime Minister Berlusconi is a flat out pirate reflecting my belief that the more popularity a leader has, the more [potential] danger he is to society. [I think Berlusconi & Bush are related, on their paternal "right-side", lol].
Yeah, and one of the big dangers with Berlusconi is he owns half of the media (news, tv, AND radio) in his country. Anyway, enough of this off-topic euro political banter! Back to Hidden and Dangerous 2! ;)

Finally, I located an obtainable source for H&D Deluxe! :)

While I dont usually pre order games, this may be an exception.
Ive been looking for this since AKU posted his acquisition of it on old board some time ago. Many sources list it as available, but when ordered, im told "sorry, out of stock".
Oh yes, definitely get it. It includes the Devil's Bridge missions (which I'ver never played) in the main menu next to the original missions. They freshened up the graphics, fixed a couple of performance bugs, and it's fully patched. The manual is on a pdf, but who cares. A nice little package! I'm playing through from the beginning, and have just started the second campaign.
