And so it goes. . . the beginning of the end.

Oh well, electronic gaming was a cool scene while it lasted; now just another cool thing devoured by the herd and warped into excrement.

I hope it doesn't pass anti-trust clearance. I've said it before, they're too big and too powerful. Can hardly wait when they start pushing renderware onto ubisoft and their games graphically turn to ass and all the different platform versions look exactly alike.

Crap on a stick.

There is just no way this can possibly be good. I mean, next they'll buy up vast shares of Sega or Capcom. Then we can all look forward to endless and horribly unbalanced versions of Street Fighter EX because it's 3D and that's what consumers want.

Now see exactly what the mainstream has brought to bear. Thanks for selling to the masses Sony, really, thanks a load.

Another thing struck me. Ubisoft got into it pretty good with EA a while back. When EA set up offices in Montreal, ubisoft accused EA of attempting to raid their staff. There was a well publicized incident involving some ubisoft personnel moving over and ubi slapping a restraint order on them, because their contracts precluded them from working for a rival for a certain time period.

I just don't know about EA, this company is looking to make enemies everywhere it seems. They've extended their bid for DICE by another month. This company's a monster.

You know I am almost certain that EA will continue to get away with these out right acts of anti trust one at a time and the reason is, people don't have to have video games to survive, thrive and be successful, so really I doubt the SEC or who ever else will take anti trust allegations too seriuosly (although I don't know jack about corperate law so I could be way off) seems to me like they very well may let EA keep flying right under their radar without shooting them out of the air so to speak.

It seems EA also tried to get exclusivity for the NBA License and were apparently declined.

Yeah, I read that. That's why when I hear people say, well, the nfl went around to several parties and offered the licence up for bid, I go, cough, cough, bull****, cough, cough. EA has been pursuing exclusive licencing wherever they feel it will boost them.

Keep in mind, even the street games have licences. After all we're talking NFL street, NBA street. Funny thing about those games though, I don't care for the actual players in them.
