i recently bought one, and it doesn't work properly. the green and red channels work fine, and if i pull the adapter out a bit, only the red channel goes through, but no matter how far i push it in, the blue channel never comes through. i have taken it apart and it all looks like it's connected properly. i have connected it to 3 screens, 2 CRT and 1 TFT, and none of themplay it properrly so it must be the cable. it's connected properly at both ends. does anyone know what the hell is wrong?

your help is appriciated

Geoff

I have not seen your setup, obviously, but with 3 monitors running off the converter, it sounds like you are not getting enough voltage to any of them. I would try it with the output to just one screen, and see if that works.

Oops, almost forgot. A Dreamcast game must be coded specifically to take advantage of the VGA adapter. Only a minority of them were so written. You cannot use the adapter with just any DC game. On the back of the game it will say if it's VGA compatible or not. RE: previous answer, I thought you were saying you had 3 monitors at once hooked up, and if you don't, please disregard.

MOST DC games work with the VGA adaptor. I would guess that about 1 in ten games WON'T work with the VGA adaptor. Given you've tried with 3 different monitors, one can only conclude that the device is bad. If the game isn't made to work with the VGA device, a screen will pop up saying so. Return the unit or get another one. Its worth the hassle to play your DC on a High Rez monitor.

nah, all the games are vga compatible, or it visually says it won't load because the game can't run. also, that 'way round' it, by waiting for the dc to laod first doesn't work, because it displays teh SEGA bit fine, then says 'OUT OF RANGE'

i reckon somehow thee's been a build up of oxide on the connectior or soemthing, i'll send it back, thanks for your help guys :D
