where are all the flamers and bashers?

Where are all the flamers and bashers? When I used to come here four years ago, the forums were packed with nothing but "XBOX IS BULKY!","PS2 HAS CRAP GRAPHICS!", and "GAMECUBE IS KIDDIE!", so I expected a whole bunch of Sony fanboys to pop up all over these forums and ridicule the DS in comparison to the PSP. I don't see any, have the forums changed that much over four years, or am I not getting something here?

there's the old bash and flame good stuff :). I'm back after four years...my name's changed...if anyone remembers me as StevieWonder102 or something or some sort of combination of xbox, playstation, and Gamecube like...say...gamestationcube or something, let me know. You would probably remember me from the old boards as Steve, Cyberdine101, Gamer From '78, Gaming Geezer, etc. I have changed my handle several times but am still here after so much that games and more importantly life has put me through.

The days of flaming are done. "The Game" who you would remember as R.Moody or Mr. Monday Night was finally banned on a permanent basis after the hard work and dedication of myself and several other posters here who created the "AoE" or Axis of Evil website. You can still view the AoE site (though it is pretty much 100% inactive these days) and laugh as we all have at http://www.geocities.com/aoemembers/title.html. Here you will see the final, desperate moments of R.Moody and what finally pushed him over the edge. Especially funny is the "guestbook" comments where Moody stated his last words. Enjoy and again, welcome back friend. It's good to see you return.

It is not so much that we are not allowed to have some good banter anymore. The problem is that 4 years ago the consoles were new and exciting. Those old arguments have become stale.

Very true. Perhaps in a couple years we'll be at it again with brand new consoles. Another problem is that now it seems everybody here has multiple consoles. If you only have 1 console you'll defend it to the death. However if you have more it just becomes "1 of your gaming consoles!!!"

Also remember that VGR's #1 Xboxflamer isn't allowed to bash the console until next year. It seems he lost a silly bet...

That was not the bet dude. The bet was that, during the month of January, you were to praise and defend the Xbox. Slade is supposed to also. The whole problem with the bet is that back when we made it things were a lot more interesting around here. Now it just won't be nearly as funny.

This board isnt really fun anymore. Not much else to say. This is the first time in months i have visited this board. I see alot old faces still around, but it seems so sssllloooowww.

I personally miss the days of flames. It gave this site a lot of it's personality and spawned characters like R.Moddy, Gamer from 78, Slade and Folken001. Now the site seems so proper and sterile and just doesn't feel the same anymore. You can see the negative effects of the change by looking at the posted topics currently on the "System Wars" board. Very dry and lame subjects that don't compare the inspiring topics the board used to see.

I'm sad to see those days are gone :'(

Those were the days. Maybe with the launch of the new consoles in '05-'06 it might spark things up again, but I doubt it. Back when I started posting on this board I was strictly PS2...'down with M$ and Xbox'!! I supported the GC until I bought one and got bored with it after a month then I was anti-M$ and anti-Nintendo. Then I finally got fed up with my PS2 because no games that I was interested in came out for like a whole year so I broke down and bought a Xbox and a few months later sold my PS2. So now I'm anti-Sony and anti-Nintendo and pro-Xbox. Funny how I remember just getting in heated flaming wars with gamers about how PS2 is better than Xbox and now I'd probably agree with those people. I haven't been coming here recently because I got tired of the same old arguments, but I do check in every once and a while to see if anything interesting is going on.
