Yep. . . . for GBA that is.

I'd thought this xmas's Donkey Kong Country 2 was the last Rare developed game for the GBA. But there's a pretty cool looking air racing game slated for January called "Banjo Pilot" and Rare is listed as developer. I believe that makes 4 games now--with good reviews-- that Rare has created for Nintendo since it last pooped out the awful Ghoulies for Xbox.

Is there anyone left at all willing to say buying Rare for nearly 1/2 billion dollars was a smart move by MS? It was virtually unanimous around here that Nintendo was STUPID for selling Rare, (and doing things widely regarded as stupid is NOT "playing it safe.") There is no "playing it safe." There's just "playing it smart."

I liked Rare most on the SNES, and they still appear to be able to make those type of games. But this gen, how many years now just to port Conker? Does anyone still expect to see a Rare return to prominence and esteem and sales successes on the Xbox?

I don't know I have been thinking for awhile now that rare is probably working on one of the if not the launch killer app for the xbox next just a thought. Most of those gba titles were well into development when MS bought them. Anyway I guess I am one of the few nintendo people that still has faith in rare and didn't get jilted by them just because someone else bought them.

Who cares about GBA and GBA games, really? I own a GBA and I NEVER use it, as far as I'm concerned GBA and DS and that crap is a waste of both time and money. I remember Rare as being a kick ass game developer for the 64, Goldeneye, Conker, and the one and only Perfect Dark, easily the best game for the 64.

When Rare starts talking about Perfect Dark 0, THEN I'll start showing some goddamn enthusiasm.

Why don't you send me your GBA and GBA games then since they are utter crap to you. I'll put it to better use. I'll give you a dollar for all of them.

Hey, we can always hope. As for the dude waiting for "golden eye o" I've just gotta say, they FPS guys at Rare took off and formed Free Radical.

I may pick up Donkey Kong Country 2 for DS; I don't mind re-buying a great game for a new system if it's been years since I've played it.

I wonder if this Rare thing is why Ed Fries left MS. I can't imagine anyone at MS is still singing the praises of buying Rare. From what I can tell it is just a name, who knows what the current talent there is like. The more I hear about the video game business the more I think I would hate to work in it.

Was Rare worth the dough to Microsoft? I don't know...yet. Microsoft seems to be more than willing to give these guys all the time they need to get the best games out. Conker Live & Reloaded is more than a port. It's the original game totally rebuilt from the ground-up with new technology and graphics. Second and most important of all, it has a mega-heavy online gaming focus which is evident by the title "Live & Reloaded."

Grabbed By The Ghoulies is a mixed-bag. My wife and I both enjoyed the game immensely. We had a good time playing it. On the other hand, it surely wasn't up to Rare's typical standards and was repetitive.

Developing games for the GBA (as long as they sell) is not a bad thing. Microsoft is taking in cash for the games they sell, regardless of what system the games are on. That can't be all bad, now can it?

Another stupid thread.

First off, it's not like Microsoft isn't getting paid for these Rare-made GBA games, okay.

Second off... bah... this thread is just too stupid... I'm out.
