Holy freaking crap!

That is great news. Glockstar was giving Xenosaga his "retro game of the year award" which made me want to play it even more (it had been on my radar) and I very much wanted to play Baten Kaitos. . . the battle system that uses elements of poker just sounds too cool.

I'm postponing both of these games and waiting for the DS versions, which I will be glad to pay full price for.

I noticed PGC's editorial question. . . "will FMV sequences turn into Golden Sun-esque text-a-thon's." Does that bother anyone? FMV was "neato-burrito" in the mid 90's w/PS1, when it was new, and like "oh wow cool look at that! I get to play for an hour with crappy graphics, and then get rewarded with 15 minutes of cool video graphics." Personally, I don't mind text, and like the graphics to stay uniform. The enhanced gamplay interface is what I'm after with the DS. I could give a crap about long FMV or voice acting.

This is huge news. The only reason I was gonna get a psp was for the rpgs. But Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos also for the DS now? The PSP has no hope. I've beaten Xenosaga before..I can't imagine it on the DS...since Xenosaga has so many voice overs and all.....but who cares! Im sure they will do some awesome stuff with the touch screen...Imagine Baten Kaitos on the DS? The touch screen is perfect for the cards..

Yeah it is a good thing to see some namco rpg support. Hopefully we will see a Tales game on the DS that too would be nice.
