I'll just say that just because a console sells a lot doesn't mean its the best, the mass of the british people believe in and buy PS2. The more elite go for the more elite consoles e.g Gamecube and X-Box.

I bout a PS2 because it can play DVDs as well. NOw as far as I know, the Cube can't do that. They decided they have to be all different and put their games on little disks that do't match anything else. It also completely lacks any online playability. Your right that just because something sells the most doesn't make it the best, but it doesn't make it the worst either. In the end it all comes down to personal taste. I like watching DVDs so I got a PS2. I like online gaming every now and then so I got an Xbox (but I still don't have live). The game selection on those two systems also seems to be a few steps ahead of GC as well.

And that controller just plain sucks.

The idea that someone is an "elite", because they bought a GC or XBox over PS2 is hilarious. Even more amazing is that Trestident refuses to consider that there may be other reasons that people buy a PS2, other than just to fit in.

nah, he's right. Games on PS2 represent about as much depth as NES games. I'd rather evolve and not be sheepish than replay crap games.

The Cube can't play DVD's. How did you know you liked watching DVD's unless you had a DVD player? Did you not have a way to play DVD's until you bought a PS2? That's not a bad reason to buy a ps2 when you consider all the games for it.

Poor little GC, it just plays games. I think I suggested to you one place else though, this is the lowest cost system with some of the best software; if the control is your sole hangup there is a little device you can buy that will let you use a PS2 controller on your GC. I love the wavebird, but we've all got our preferred control. If I could use the wavebird on the xbox, that would be the final straw. I'd own one of this big ugly suckers.
