sounds mmm mmm gooooood to me. Could this be the R63 replacement? So where u gonna be at this evening Darwin, feel like playing the single player campaign online?
Call of Duty, btw isn't looking so hot from the reviews, they watered it down too much for the consoles. Plus its only 10 hours long and very easy, the online game is average. I may give it a shot if I get bored. But for right now, its GHR2 and Crash & Burn.

You beat me to the puchline here. I was gonna start up a GH2 post, but I'll just add to yours. We must be on different schedules. I just got online from 10 pm till 1 am. I am up for coop play online anytime you see me online. I also have off work this weekend. Name a time that's good for you.
I did the first two missions as single player on Hard (no auto-aim ... I turned that thing off first ... wish I could do that in Halo 2). Very cool stuff so far. Nice level designs, overall good AI (although your teamates don't seem to get many kills), good controls. I like the less-linearity to the levels (less linear than Rainbox Six levels, for comparison) and the openess to it. At first, because of the openess to it, I started playing it as a run-and-gun game ... got killed. Nope, you gotta use a good amount of strategy and taking cover. The levels are filled with lots of good cover points.
There are a lot of different online modes, and many of them cater to coop play. I was almost jumping out of my seat when I saw how many coop modes there were. That was my favorite type of online play from Rainbow Six, and it's here but in even bigger form. I tried out one of the coop modes by myself (which you can still do), and I was surprised at how far the enemy will move throughout the level. They do not stay in their small safety zones like Rainbow Six. The enemy will come after you, and in groups, and flank you ... and shoot Methadone Man in the back completely by surprise. Unlike in Rainbow, where you can almost always go at your own pace, the enemies in GR2 force you to keep vigilant at all times because they seem to be on the move a lot.
Note about the difficulty: hard mode is more realistic than normal in that you can die from a few well-placed shots. It's similar to Rainbow Six games. But in the single player game, you can save anywhere (which is a blessing and a curse). The save-anywhere feature does make the hard mode too easy ... but of course I can choose to save less often. The good news is that coop online missions do not have this save feature, so I think it will be a lot more challenging doing these on Live. Also, we can opt to do the missions without a radar, without auto-aim, etc, to make it more challenging.
The host seems to have a lot of different options. There is even one option to force first person mode. Various options to choose which weapons can be used. I forgot to see if he can force radar off or on.
But it's not perfect. I have a few techical problems with the game:
- Framerate: we've been spoiled with Halo 2. The framerate in GR2 is not steady and it's lower than a Rainbow Six or Splinter Cell game. There are times, it can be a bit nauseating. But, it didn't seem to effect me much in the missions as you have to go slow and strategic anyway. It's just something to get used to. Hell, if I played Deus Ex on the PS2 (with all it's framerate problems), I can easily handle GR2's framerate.
- Hello? Anybody at Red Storm bother to play test the voice recognition in GR2? With Rainbow Six 3, the voice recognition would work like 95% of the time. In GH2, it seems to only work half of the time for me.

Well, I played the game last night and did the first two missions, plus the training mission. I also played the game on hard, with auto aim off. Thus far, my complaints are my guys will not take cover in all circumstances, sometimes they stand out in the open. My other complaint is the voice commands and command system, like you said, it isn't very accurate. Other than that the game is awesome and I think its gonna be great online.
After I finished the 2nd level I came online, just to see who was on, I tried to join your game and couldn't, I wasn't gonna play but just talk about the game, I had to get offline, so I didn't wait, I just said I'd catch up w/you today. I had about 4 guys playing the game, but everybody else was playing Halo2. So hopefully it will pick up some steam.
This evening, i'm good to go man. I can probably play around 8pm, maybe before. I am ready for some coop too. One thing you said, is the framerate online, that's gonna be hard to get used to after the buttery smoothness of Halo2. But you know i'm definitely down for some coop play.
