A few weeks back, I commented on GC's lineup and said that while it looked promising this fall with Pikmin 2, Harvest Moon, Viewtiful Joe, Rebel Strike, Billy Hatcher, 1080, Mario Kart, MGS Substance and Gotcha Force, the GC would suffer like last year because there were very few titles in December and January and onwards into February and March even to carry the momentum on from November. It seems as if that's changing with several notable delays from the above lineup.
Mainly Pikmin 2, Harvest Moon and Gotcha Force have been pushed back and essentially they augment the late 2003 to 2004 GC lineup quite satisfactorily. Also, several other titles have been either pushed up or pushed further back and they actually preserve the momentum GC has established quite nicely.
In December, where we only had Mario Kart DD before, we now have 1080 and Harvest Moon.
In January, there's Gotcha Force and Sonic Heroes.
In February, FF Crystal Chronicles and LOZ: Four Swords.
In March, Pokemon Colosseum and Tales of Symphonia which was actually pushed up from April.
I think this preserves the GC momentum quite well into 2004. April is barren but there's still time for some TBA title to land into that spot.

2004 is definately gonna be alot better to the GC than '03 has been as far as quanity of games goes. Still though, as good as that lineup is I think it caters to too narrow a field to bring in any new blood to the GC...and that's really the cubes biggest problem. Anyone that would want one has probably picked it up by now.

GC first qtrs have been weak. But this 1st qtr looks to be really strong. You mention anyone that wants a GC has picked one up by now. Yet what do we have in 1st Qtr? First, Tales of Symphonia and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. GC has been weak in RPG; and these games have boosted sales in Japan. They will show sales spikes here as well.
And 1st Qtr also has Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. This is not just some dull port of an old PS1 game. Many people were dissapointed with the sequals story. The first MGS holds the most esteem. Yet the sequel had a lot of game play elements that were really cool. MGS: The twin snakes incorporates all the gameplay elements of the sequel with the story of the original P1 MGS. This is a recipe for success. There is a large audience for this and it WILL do well. The only other remake I'm as enthused about is Conker on Xbox.

Yeah, but is that enough? You have FF:CC which will probably sell a Gamecubes based on brandname alone, but to someone actively looking for a system with alot of variety they might see the game as more of the same. MGS is definately something good and different, even if some people do consider it just a port, but the GC needs alot more like it to really round out it's library.
If you ask me the Xbox needs more GC style games and the GC needs more Xbox style games to really make em compete with the PS2. You take these 2 systems libraries and you easily have some of the best gaming anyone has seen in awhile...it's just kind of a shame that they're so great in some areas and suck in others.
