After getting two so-so reviews, Halo 2's average on GR is just about the same as GTA:SA now. I expect there to be more of these reviews coming in so the score should level off at about 95%. I don't care that these reviewers are giving Halo 2 a rather low score, but I looked at some other games they reviewed that got higher scores than Halo 2 and it just didn't seem right. They are either very, very inconsistent or they are trying to generate more traffic for their site.

Exactly so now maybe everyone will realize something. Generally speaking if a game averages over 90% on GR then it is probably a very high quality title. Just how high quality is pretty much left to the game player's individual taste. I mean for my money GTA-SA and Halo 2 are a dead heat, and should be scored accordingly and the amount of playing time that I am giving them is even too.

yeah i read both of those low-scored reviews. The Cinescape guy was obviuosly just looking to stir up a hornet's nest. The points he brought up were pretty melodramatic... like getting confused by the character switching which takes place "at a breakneck pace" (breakneck pace? wtf??)... oh and since MGS2 had character switching and it sucked, then Halo2 must be the same way...
what he doesn't realize is mgs2 sucked because the WHOLE game you played as weener-rayden boy. It's not like the arbiter is slipping in bird poop, here.
the other guy from gaming nexus obviously has a sizable chip on his shoulder for anything that is not Sony. easy to see from his first sentance: "Let’s face it; there are two different types of gamers; those who are level headed and are willing to accept the rational, and those who are absolute fanboys that will fight to the death to defend their beloved franchises."
He comes out of the corner swinging... almost like he know's he's going to offend people with what he wants to say, so he wants to land the first hit. What, and you're so much better than us, mr. game reviewer?
he goes on with this: "I have a feeling that all of the geeks who waited outside of EB to get their copy of the game at the stroke of midnight have already decided to disregard this review,"
Right you are, johnny. And no, it wasn't your immenant critiscm of the game (justified or not, I'll never know) that turned me away... it was your patronizing -and most likely hypocritical- attitude toward your own peers, jaggoff. Any grown man that is playing games is just as geeky as the next, so don't try to pass yourself as the 'chic' one in the crowd. You're lame just like me.
Some sites just give low scores like this so that they'll be noticed. I don't think I'd have ever followed a link to those sites otherwise. It's pretty easy to see that Halo2 is holding its own quite well with 90% of the reviews giving it 9/10 or better.

Some people like to say that Game A is better than Game B because it score 95% while game B scored 93%. From my POV, there is no difference between those scores. They are two very good games. Yesterday, Halo 2 was supposed to better than GTA:SA because its score was about 2% points higher. Look where it is today.

I stopped reading that review after the first paragraph. I could see where it was going. I decided to look at some other reviews and realized what they must be trying to do.

Oh absolutely. I am so glad that I have both systems because I can't imagine not being able to go home and pop either one in. All things considered I think GOTY could go either way, and people should not be upset about it.

Yes it is and I will most definately end up with that one early next year during the "spring game lull".

Wonder why this thread was moved. Oh well. Yeah, R&C3 looks like a really good game. I really liked the first one, but never got around to playing the second one. The gme seems to slip under the radar here in system wars even though it's right up there with the top games like Halo 2 and GTA:SA. I just finished Halo 2 and I must say I'm a little disappointed. I'll play through it again on Heroic to see what it's like before I draw any conclusions about the single player experience. As for GTA:SA, I've played a few hours of it. It's greatly improved over GTA:VC, but it's not my cup of tea anymore.

I tried to tell you all.....
No one ever takes off their "hype-goggles" or sheds their "genre-bias" long enough to listen.
R&C:UYA is the true GOTY.
Buy or rent the the game. You will see.
