Chiped xbox, good or bad

I am thinking about having my xbox chipped!!!

I have been told that it can break the system but I know a guy who had his chipped ages ago and his console still works fine.

Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated.[

It depends on what kind of mod chip you get, and how good you are at soldering. If you're not too comfortable with breaking open electronics and screwing with the guts I'd probably hold off on it.
