Well... it's fun and everything. The menus and the match up service is a pile of garbage though. The clan management system is a pile too. I'm actually surprised how poorly they implamented it, meaning the whole online thing. The only way to actually select a game is to start a party and invite people. The only way to play against random people is to let the matchmaking service do it for you, the problem with that is that the gametype and map and settings are all random. They should have just used the same menu style as the other games on live.

The game is very fun online though. It plays what a console FPS should play like. A bit slower paced to make up for the lack of precision in the controls. It seems like it runs at 3/4 speed of a standard PC FPS, but that seems to work out great.

I guess I'm happy with my purchase but on the same side dissapointed because I expected a much better matching service for the online side of the game.

I understand that HALO 2 is a great game but I recommend you try TRON 2.0. This game has every feature that HALO 2 has as far as online options and abilities. The optimatch system is 10x better and outside of the usual run n' gun you can also have Disc tournaments and light cycle matches. Only 39.99... give it a try.

the reason is so skee-jod is because bungie was obviously trying to level the playing field by having the game itself decide who is hosting it depending on connection speed. There's no way to find games when the hosting xbox can change mid-game.

I agree, though, the random part of this really sucks. I've only tried the matchmaking system twice and both times the game royally sucked. First around it was incredibly laggy and the second time, two of my teamates dropped before the game kicked in because they were tired of waiting. The match ended up being a total screwjob because the teams were so uneven.
