I finally got to use the Logitech Wireless controller for the xbox. I hadn't even gotten to hold one yet--haven't seen a gamestore that had one out of the package.
Easy enough to review: Great distance, and super comfortable. This is the best third party control I've ever used. It is even more comfortable, and much more solid feeling, than the first party S controller. It wasn't too heavy, it just seemed rugged.
That being said, I still didn't buy one, though I want one. I love wireless, but the xbox cables are the longest, and so I'm getting by for now. But anyone wanting putting together the ultimate xbox experience--if you don't have this controller, you aren't quite there yet, regardless of your TV, sound, cables, etc.) Not having a cable dangling off the front of your controller is a subtle thing, but once you've gone wireless, you never want to go back.
I really want to try out the wireless logitech makes for the Ps2. . . that'd probably be the controller I'd replace next, since I hate that controller. (it goes without saying the Wavebird is required for the GC unless you want the system sitting in the middle of your living room instead of under your TV.)
(Best Buy had a widescreen high definition flat screen set up with an xbox, monster cables, a couch about 20 feet from the TV, and the wireless controllers sitting on the table couch. I just wish they'd had something in, like Ninja Gaiden, instead of the new Star Wars game.)

Yup, I got mine for free when I bought my Xbox. I don't think I could live without one now that I'm used to it.

I have two of them. However, you can't use them for XBOX LIVE. Well, Logitech addressed that issue with the LogicTech Precision controller, it is shaped just like the wireless controllers, only it isn't wireless, and it cost only $24 bucks. So I have two of the wireless and one precision which I use online.

Eww...damn. Why can't it be used in Live?

They really are the best third-party controllers, but there are a few problems. At least with mine, anyways.
One, the analog sticks get stuck when I tap the stick to the left without holding it. That rarely happens since I always keep my thumb on the stick, I just hope that it doesn't get any worse.
Two, my buttons aren't as responsive as the S controller.
Three, the triggers start to hurt my finger after I've held them down for a while(like in a race on Burnout3). I can just feel the arthritis developing. They are also a tad to touchy.
Overall, I'd give the S controller the advantage. The design of the wireless makes it a slight more comfy to hold, but the S has better response and sensitivity.

i'm not positive but i don't think there's enough juice to carry voice communication.

Other than the part about the controller S, this is all just about exactly what I would've wrote, if I would've made this post.
So... I don't have much to add.
Except for one thing... if you think you like this controller, just wait until you try their Pro Racing Wheel! They don't make it for the XBox yet, just the P2, but they're working on it. ;)

I heard that the wheel has a full 900% of turning stuff(I forgot the technical term), unlike the old one that only had 300%. That makes for a much more realistic feel. It would be nice to see one for the XBOX, since there are far more quality racing titles on it than the PS2.

No, it can be used on LIVE. Its just that the wireless base station connects to your XBOX, it also has the slots for your memory cards, so that is where your mic connects. So if you use it with LIVE, you either have to not use your microfone, or sit right next to your XBOX.
Now, a lot of people are buying these hip wireless microphones, to go along with this wireless controller. I'm not going to go that route at this stage in the game. Cause we are going to have to buy new controllers with XBOX2. Hell, i've already bought 2 of these, plus 1 precision. I'm done buying peripherals in this generation.
Also, I haven't had the problems, I think peanut had with my logictechs. And I use the analog stick buttons often. In Motogp2, before I changed my controls, I used them as my up and down shift buttons, they never stuck. In Toca2, I use the left analog stick as my clutch, so that is a lot of shifting, never do they stick. And as far as loose responsiveness, I think he maybe right on that one. But that is a good thing. Basically, the sticks are more responsive, but if you can master that, it gives you more precision and fine control. I'm so use to it, but I do remember, I first got these controllers and for about the first few days I was squirrely with Motogp2. But, you adapt to it and it becomes an advantage, of course, when initially switch, it may feel strange.
Oh, the corded precision controller, obviously gets around the microphone problem because its memory slots are on the controller.

no way, logitech wireless controller rules??
nintendos wavebird for the gamesube is alot better that anything thirdparty. i think microsoft should create their own wireless controller, it would be more reliable.
ps: wavebird rules! ;)

Well, my wireless just crapped-out on me. For some odd reason, it would just stop working, and then I would be able to bet it to work again with the reset button on the reciever, but now it won't even light up anything! It's nopt the batteries, because I tried two new sets.
Could the interference from another wireless mess it up? I'm not talking about another Logitek. Right before I was playing XBOX, I was ripping through some Wario Ware using my Wavebird. ACtually, there were two Wavebirds being used.
Also with this mishap, my Burnout 3 game stopped working on my XBOX, and that's the game that the wireless went kaput. After a few hours, Burnout started working again, but not the controller.
Oh well, I was deciding to go back to using the S anyways. The response time was too slow for me to tear ass on Ninja Gaiden. It threw off my timing.
