Someone posted link for PC acronyms on old board about 6-8 months ago. Ive searched for this specific site w/o luck [gave it away w/old system]. Anyone recall this URL or who posted it?

What's Rebirth? I've played SS2, but never heard of it.

It's an unofficial SS2 mod with enhanced character models and textures. It makes SS2 look better basically. Check out the website for more.

I checked out the Rebirth link & I ended up @ GamersHell, which is where I dowloaded mod earlier this am.
My confusion is the mod desription indicates Pipe toting Hybrids are amongst the moded. Infact, they are listed first along w/midwife etc.
I just started playing & made encounter w/Pipe Hybrids [after modding], but there appearance hasnt changed [maybe it'll show in latter missions]. I know I pasted it to Shock2's main directory...I better check my files again.

"Q": After pasting mod, shouldnt Shock2 Propeties>General Tab> indicate date change under "Last Modified"?

I am excited about this mod for the improvements made to enemy appearances, makes a great game better four years latter.

Bare breasted midwives are included in Rebirth, giving it that "down home" feel.

Wow, looking at the screen shots, i'm amazed at the difference the mod makes! I may have to fire SS2 up again (i never really got into it.).

If you do, chooese a different path initially.
I played [common choice?] as Marine first time around. I missed out on opprotunities to exercise psi [OSA path] abilities early on. Granted, there are down sides to this initially "weaker" char, but I found enough upgrade chips in first few levels to allow for use of firearms & first level hack skills.

Rebirth mod is eye candy, but the better it looks, the more inclined I am to play it! [Im still waiting for mod to kick in, maybe my download was corrupted??].

thought i'd chip in for the third link..

Check your install instructions, or start a new game and see if the changes are there. The thing should 'kick in' the moment you see your first hybrid (right at the beginning of the game).

Yeah AKU, thats what I thought. Im gonna uninstall [including mod]/reinstall Shock2, then download Rebirth & see if I find success. ;)


Let me know how you do in VC mission "Save the Outpost".
