Well, well, well.
I like the new boards. Very nice.
Currently, I'm playing Mario Golf and Madden 2003 for the GC (couldn't pass up the $19 price tag). Looking forward to F-zero and Pikmin 2.

I will have Soul Calibur 2 next week along with the art book you get for preordering the game.
Hopefully, this new board will keep the flaming to a minimum.

The new look will take some getting used to. But cool.
I'm looking fwd to the end of the GC's annual game drought with the upcoming F-Zero, Pikmin II, Rogue Squadron, and Harvest Moon.
Currently have been getting use out of the 'cube with Mario Golf and the GBA Player--Metroid Fusion looks and SOUNDS great, as does Advance Wars. I've also been tripping down SNES memory lane replaying Zelda: Link to the Past, Mario World, and Contra: Alien Wars (which sucked bad on handheld.) Yeah, I sold my SNES years ago, so its kind of cool to play these games again with a wavebird and a better set-up.
It has been a dry-ass summer for GC, though. Thank god things like RTCW and and GTA: VC have been entertaining me on my PC.

I do like the format of the new boards much better.
I'm excited about SC... a great true fighter for the GC. But, I've got to say I saw the preview game at Wal-Mart yesterday and it just did not flip my switch.
Maybe I've out grown fighting games... or maybe all my old, good competition have kids, wives, and jobs.
I don't know....it is sort of depressing. :)

To tell you the truth, the SC2 demo didn't exactly impress me all that much either. Of course, it was also limited to just two characters, neither of which I've spent much time with. All in all, I'm pretty certain that the complete game should rock. And if it doesn't, at least I get a free art book out of it. :D

I'm still waiting on getting Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, and completing the rest of my Resident Evil collection. I was SUPER impressed by the remake, and Zero's new character swapping was a stroke of brilliance. Another game I have on my must have list is the Starcraft: Ghost game. Other than that I have been rather disenchanted with the GCN, preferring to play my comp games over the console games I own. Metriod Prime is gaining dust, Zelda is okay in small doses... but too "clean" (play Gothic or Neverwinter Nights and you'll see how gritty RPG's can get), while Mario Sunshine lost what Mario 64 had in abundance... Action/ Exploration. Sunshine feels like a run-of-the-mill platformer unfortunately... Mario Party 4 still gets a good work-out at my place though, but opening up any new boards seems like a herculian task. I don't remember the original Mario Party being so difficult to open up new play fields and options/play aids/items... I dunno, maybe I'm getting too old and set in my computer loving ways...

SC rocks.
After reading on IGN about Fzerox last night, I'm pretty pumped about that game (releases the same day as the TTT DVD). My wife and son have been playing the heck out of Wario World. It's the only game, other than sims, we've ever owned that my wife has played more than me.

I want F-zero badly but I can't get it at this point. There's just other stuff coming out within the same time frame like SH3, SC2 and VFEvo. So much coming out for both my consoles in the next couple of months, I can barely figure out how to keep up with it all.
Hey Ancie :D , have you tried Eternal Darkness yet?

LOL :D Your idle jabs bother me not, Smotherer of the Mentally Ill!! ;) Everyone keeps saying get the blasted game... Are you another? If you recommend it, I'll make sure I get it next, and soon. I find it hard to believe that it could actually beat out the RE remake... could it? Has it? Have you tried the two? Hmmm, damn, just hearing the name again, makes me want to run out and pick it up... since I'm sorta anticipating your answers! :)

I would definately recommend Eternal Darkness. The graphics aren't on par with Resident Evil but are better then the PSX's RE2 and RE3. Storywise and atmosphere wise, the game is very very good for a first outing and there are one or two puzzles that are actually challenging. The control's are better then Resident Evil's and are like a normal action game but the pacing keeps the game from being just another action title.
As for how it compares to RE itself. I'd have to say that it is pretty close although it doesn't offer the challenge level of Resident Evil. In RE, you've got to conserve ammo and health supplies and it gets pretty bad on higher difficulty levels. Once you get the magic effects in ED, you can heal yourself endlessly and oddly enough, melee weapons like swords are more useful then firearms against most enemies. There is one boss in Eternal Darkness though, that is challenging to beat. All in all, I'd say that it isn't as good as RE but it's off by only a little bit. And if you love story driven games, this is one of the best.

Oh, whoops... Sorry Slade, you're not the Smotherer of the Mentally Ill... that honour belonds to Sauron! I thought I was responding to him. Thanks for the answer though, I'll pick it up when it hits 20 (Cdn) bucks (it's probably close to that as is).
