I recently borrowed Eternal Darkness from my friend and i was blown away.
At frist it was a boring as watching the grass grow. Running around in the dark (well it wasnt that dark) seemed soo boring. I was never a resident evil fan, infact i disliked horror games. The only shred of entertainment i gained from playing the game was waiting how long it took for the girl to start gasping for air once i kept running around in circles.
I soon decided to put on those glasses, hook up the surround sound, adjust the brightness and give the game some time to grow. And it did, like fungus (lol, no i mean that in a good way ). Currently i m on the Karim chapter. Now that i am playing this game, i resent SiliconKnights for leaving Nintendo, or was it Nintendo telling silverknights to leave? Anyway how was your take on this game? And why did Silicon Knights leave? Was it cuz of some blockage of creativity Nintendo and Hideo created by MSG:TT?
BTW: MSG:TT has been delayed, i shall play it once i finish Eternal Darkness.

Yea, I think Eternal Darkness kicks @$$ too! I've already played through it twice. So one more time and I get to see the special uber ending.
I don't think Silicon Knights "left" Nintendo. Their 2nd party status to Nintendo ended and now they're 3rd party. That's what I've been led to believe anyway. So they might make multiplatform games or they very well could continue to design games exclusively for Nintendo as a 3rd party.
I think perhaps you're right about the creativity "blockage" coming from Nintendo. I think Silicon Knights and Nintendo are 2 different sides of the sword. I would really liked to see Silicon Knights make more "M" rated Gamecube games, but I think Nintendo had other ideas. I just hope they don't sell out and go multiplatform.

Eternal Darkness is one of my favorite GC games. I tend to be a fan of short attention span arcadey stuff like Ikaruga, Monkey Ball and F-Zero. . . games I can pop in and then quit 20 minutes later (I don't have a lot of free time.) A game like ED needs to be played a couple hours at a time. . . Every time I played I would complete at least one chapter in a sitting. I believe this is the best story/cinematic game I have ever played.
This game is beyond just horror and RE cheap startle-based scares. The way it tied together real history. . . the roman empire, Charlemaigne, all the way to the first Gulf War. . .the story itself gave me goosebumps.
The story was very HP Lovecraft; I'm wondering if the upcoming PC game Cthulu will do as much justice to Lovecraft's disturbing visions as Eternal Darkness did.
I'm there with no1gamer. . . played through twice; I will play it through the third time for the uber-ending eventually.

That's an interesting question. I just checked their website and there isn't anything about what's to come after MGS:TTS.

Too human will probaly be their next release, its rumoured to be an xbox exclusive but don't be surprised if it gets pushed back to the next generation.
Given Silicon Knights are behind it and it has been in development for like 8 years or something like that  it should turn out to be an amazing game.

Yeah...
------------
A new game could be announced as soon as this summer...Too Human, perhaps?
Silicon Knights, the developer behind such games as Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Eternal Darkness, and the GameCube version of Metal Gear Solid, made enough news earlier this year when they announced that they were ending exclusive development for Nintendo and the GameCube, opening doors for new developments. Now one of those new developments may be taking shape. According to various online reports, Silicon Knights has begun work on an ambitious new project for the Xbox console, and will announce what the project is sometime this summer.

Too Human has been in development for 8 years? That's a long time. Most games that have long development cycles prosper, but 8 years? 8 years ago games were still being released for the SNES and Sega Genesis. Think about it...
Nevertheless, I would rather see Silicon Knights develop exclusively for the Xbox than just go multiplatform.

The reason it has been in development for so long is because the game was originaly planned for a psx release until nintendo acquired Silicon Knights as a second party developer, the game then switched to the gamecube. Concepts for the game date back to 1993 but the game didn't totally take off until the original Legacy of Kain was completed in 1996.

After Metroid Prime, ED is my favorite GC game. Take that with Blood Omen (and the fact Rare is long gone), and SK became my favorite Nintendo 2nd party developer. So I was quite disappointed when they left, to say the least.
And I agree. I too think there were "creative" differances between them and Nintendo. I don't think they were too happy with the way Nintendo was marketing their games (or lack there of). Such a shame because SK gave Nintendo something no other Nintendo developer was making since Rare left.
The fact that Too Human might be Xbox exclsuive has to be another slap in the face for Nintendo...
