I was just reading an article about EGM and them saying that Nintendo was so pleased with the way the WW bonus disc had gone, that they are maybe considering having a bonus CD come with Mario Kart. I think there was also talk somewhere about having the new Starfox game have something extra.
What do you all think about bonus CD's? I would love to see a Mario64 game come with the release of the next mario game. Does anyone see it as wasted effort on Nintendo part? A little too late, perhaps?

Bonus disks is definitely a bonus, especially if given when you preorder a title. The only problem I have with it is if the new title plays the same as the older title. For example, the Zelda bonus disk. To me, the Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time played so much alike, when I finally got a hold of WW, I got tired of it before I got too far into the game. I'm wondering if the same would happen with Mario Kart and Double Dash....
It does seem a little too late for Bonus disks. Nintendo should have done it with games such as Metroid Prime by giving away Super Metroid or the first Metroid on a bonus disk.

Same thing happened to me. LOL! I guess a month and a half of straight Link is enough for anybody. I heard that Nintendo was going to be doing MK64 as a pre-order bonus for MK:DD. So we'll see if the rumors are true.

Actually, the original 8-bit Metroid is included on Metroid Prime, if you unlock it via the GC/GBA connectivity.
