PSX Freezes On Save?

Hi, when I use gameshark codes w/certian games, they freeze on save or load. Is this normal? Everytime I try and save this one game, it freezes, I'll never finish the game w/o the darn gameshark either. When I switched the GS to slot 1 and memory to 2, it wouldn't freeze, but it couldn't save due to not finding a memory card in slot 1, so... I'm lost. Will it help if I remove the GS before saving?

and thats why you dont cheat my friend ;) lol, nah...thats been a major problem with gameshark for many years now and one of the biggest reasons why i quit using it. Depending on how many codes are entered and depending on whether or not the game your using to cheat on is already in the gameshark directory all matter and have an effect on how well of a chance you have on actually being able to save the game. Im not quite sure what to tell you, but i do know that gameshark has many flaws.
