View Full Version : Any Sacrifice Players?
Im just starting to play this one [though I loaded it six months ago & did all tutorials].
A few initial questions:
[1] Is there a way to de-select units? It would seem that the last unit[s] selected remain ready for command, I have tried numerous mouse clicks to de-select, but no luck, Im always stuck with having a unit selected [annoying].
[2] Im on second mission for Persephone, my wizard has minimal unit options, starting out w/12 units. I am quickly overwhelmed by hordes of Pyro units....seems a bit of a mis match to me @ a glance... [*edited*: "Guardian" spell has turned the tide here for me].
[3] Can the "Guardian" spell be undone? Once this spell has been cast, it seems theres no way to free units from said task.
Any basic hints/tips on achieving success appreciated, my gaming time being limited.
Thank you.

Wow, it's been a while since I played Sacrifice, so I'm finding it difficult answering your questions. I'll give it a go though.
I don't know about the interface niggle you refer to in (1), but I don't remember having any major troubles such as those you describe. The control system wasn't intuitive, but once I got used to it, it seemed to become second nature. As for (3), I don't think you can reverse the Guardian spell. It's permanent. When you think about it, this is probably down to balancing issues. It'd be easy to Guardian all your units when under attack, thus giving the defending player a massive (and possibly unassailable) advantage. Once the fight was over, you'd un-Guardian all your guys and take them with you while mopping up the souls of your dead attacker's forces.
Maybe this page (http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/game/26097.html) at gamefaqs could help you further. Otherwise, it'll be a trip to the game-specific forums.
Since posting for help I have devoured all but the last mission of the Persephone campaign. As a result, many questions I had were answered along the way.
I am stuck on getting a foot hold on the last Persephone mission [#10, "Finale"].
I start out with 12 souls & three Manahoars. In front of my Altar are two mana fountains ready for conversion. The difficulty Im experiencing is setting up my minimal units & fountains in time for first wave attack of overwhelming opposition. This first wave is both numerically & upper unit superior to what I can build. No big, I like these short lived challenges, they make victory more enjoyable!
All in all a good RTS, easy to grasp interface, tutorials useful for beginners & realitively fast paced missions. I was hoping for more of an RPG element in Sacrifice, @ least for my wizard [I had only two upgrades offered to me in all entirety of this campaign  ].
Thanks for link/advice Moya :)

Let me introduce myself, I am Charlie, and I love PC games,I concider them true pieces of art.Sacrifice is no exception,I loved it since I saw the demo. After I took the game I started playing online.I was a bit pi$$ed off coz of the lame skills some players had. Some ppl just send an irakus or a blight when fighting to destroy your manaliths or they mass only 1 type of creature, and I think thats so lame. Now I am trying to find ways to beat those lame skills, but i still have fun playing Sacrifice anyways.
Yes,some people still play Sacrifice online,we really need players for our so called community,so you are all welcome to join,my gaming name is the same.Hope I see you there soon.
Charlie.
