Here's my list:
10. Super Mario Sunshine
This is as good as platforming games get on the Gamecube!
09. Beach Spikers Volleyball
BSV is my favorite multiplayer game on the Gamecube. Yes you heard me right! Mario Kart and SSBM will have to take a back seat to BSV!
08. Resident Evil 0
RE0 has the best graphics I've ever seen in a console game!
07. Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes
This game is the most cinematic gaming experience I've ever seen! And Meryl is almost as sexy as the computer generated hotties I created in BSV!
06. Ikaruga
The best old school shooter on the Gamecube. This is also the most challenging game I've played in a long time! Great replayability!
05. Skies of Arcadia Legends
The only true RPG on the Gamecube. The story and characters are some of the best I've seen in any Gamecube game. By all means this is a super RPG that will take a LONG time to play through. But it's definitely worth doing so!
04. Viewtiful Joe
This game has too much style for its own good! Not only is it challenging but it's fun from the minute you start playing until the minute you quit!
03. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
ED is scary on a whole new level. Silicon Knights is onto something big with this game! Hopefully they make a franchise out of it! I only have one more play through to see the triple uber ending! I can't wait!
02. Resident Evil
This game is super creepy! It seems to be the definitive survival horror genre game!
01. Metroid Prime
Everyone here who knows me isn't surprised to see this game at the #1 spot! No explanation needed. It's the best.
Oops, I couldn't fit Zelda Wind Waker in there. Maybe the new Zelda game will find a spot in the top 10!
What about Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash you say? They're great games as well; perhaps I should have made this the top 20 Gamecube games list...

2) Metroid Prime
3) Resident Evil Remake
4) Resident Evil 0
5) Eternal Darkness
6) The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker

I love the GC. And anyway, it is a list. You see the episode of X-files with Vampires, you know, the ones that had to pick up sun-flower seeds or tie shoe-strings if they were untied. . .kinda obsessive compulsive vampires. I have hard time resisting lists.
I'm not listing only exclusives. Also I'm currently playing Skies of Arcadia and loving it, but it remains to be seen if it will a top ten. Sorry to say Mario Kart and Wind Waker didn't make, despite being truly great games. Sad to leave out Rogue Squadron, too.
10. Time Splitters 2--my favorite console FPS, period. Replay and multi-player out the wazoo.
9. F-Zero GX. THIS is what futuristic racing is all about. Fast and gorgeous.
8. Viewtiful Joe. Simply amazing. How could the old 2D beat-em ups be made so fresh and fun? Thanks Capcom.
7. Eternal Darkness. This game scared the crap out of me. Story was fabulous, intelligent. Magic system was fun. Actually was sort of complicated, like real magick. Spanning 2000 years of twisted human history, this epic tale of Lovecraftian horror should make any GC owner proud. Kiddie system wha?
6. Super Smash Brothers Melee. A launch title I'm still playing and discovering new things about it. Enough said. This is truly the "Halo killer" on GC.
5. Animal Crossing. The most original freaking weird addictive innovative suck your brains out game created. Just when I thought gaming was out of ideas, along came this thing and stayed the most played game by everyone in my home for nearly 6 months.
4. Ikaruga. Pure shooter perfection.
3. Super Monkey Ball 2. Monkeys. In balls. Doing stuff. Please don't make me try to explain why this is one of the best games, not just on GC, but ever.
2. Metroid Prime. I'm running out of words. Can't type much more. ATMOSPHERE. Level design and artistry that make the boring, repetitive grey corridors of Halo look like something my dog sicked up.
1. Pikmin. And since probably anyone likely to read this has heard me talk about this game endlessly, I won't do so again here. It is my favorite game of all time, on any system.
I want to mention one little weird exclusive by nintendo, brought to America by Atlus. Cubivore. It looks like an ugly little N64 game. I just love this game, very touching, funny, and some very beautiful music. And you get to mate. AND, you can even poo. You have a button for it. . . and its not just a scatalogical joke, its actually strategic!
If you EVER are lucky enough to find a cheap copy of this somewhere, or see it for rent, GET IT. Hell, I'd say get it even if its not cheap, but just as a collector's item. It's the ultimate geek nintendo innovation love-fest. You'll be glad to at least say you played this rarity, which I think sold maybe 18,000 copies in the US. I was jus shocked something this weird and japanese made it to america. I bought it at full price just as a big effin thank you to Nintendo and Atlus.

Hey! You guys both ranked F-Zero GX on your lists! Is it that good? Maybe I'll pick it up if I find it somewhere discounted. I'm not a big fan of racing games though.
I just noticed this. Out of my 10 favorite Gamecube games only 2 of them are made by Nintendo. I still don't understand why people claim that you can only play Nintendo games on the Gamecube. There are lots of non-Nintendo franchise games to play on the GCN!

10. SSX3
I also own an XBOX but favor the Gamecube controller. So when purchasing games that are available for both systems (and created similar for each system) I usually go with the Cube version. Especially with SSX and the EABig titles. I just prefer the Cube control set-up and it feels more comfortable.
9. Eternal Darkness
Twisted, fun, eerie - all good traits of a top notch horror game. This doesn't play like Resident Evil either - much better and deeper story. I love the way this game plays tricks on your mind (how many people turned off the Cube thinking it was broken or the game was malfunctioning whilst all the while it was just the game messing with you). Everyone has to check this game out at least once.
8. Soul Caliber 2
Link makes the Cube version the best. Plus the controls feel better on the Cube IMO. Another fun multiplayer title although I prefer DOA3 on the XBOX as my current favorite fighting game.
7. Super Monkey Ball
You know the drill, roll a monkey from point A to point B. Addictive, mindless fun yet challenging enough to make you want to break a few wavebirds. SEGA.
6. Mario Kart Double Dash
Best racer - challenging though. Not realistic like Project Gotham or some of the other games available but just as much fun if not more. The new strategy of two players per kart really opens up gameplay and makes this more of a fighter than racer at times. Even still - its a great racer. Ever since the N64 version (and Diddy Kong racing), I've always enjoyed the Mario Kart series. This version is the best yet!!
5. Pikmin
Very underated!!! A fun puzzle game with innovative story and gameplay. I can't wait for Pikmin 2 (what I'm I talking about? I haven't even beat this one yet).
4. Super Smash Brothers Melee
Bar none the best multiplayer game I've ever played with good friends. This is must have for anyone who likes to play videogames with pals. So many surprises await game players even after 100's of hours invested (like unlockable characters, arenas, special moves, newly discovered combos and moves).
3. Metroid Prime
Awesome FPS (ties with Halo although I'd give Halo a very slight edge). Creative controls and great graphics set this game apart from most console FPS. Plus, Metroid worlds and creatures have always been some of the more interesting.
2. Viewtiful Joe
Best Action Title on any console (IMO). It offers a fun and simple game to understand and get into yet challenging with lots of replay value - unlockable characters and more difficult gameplay settings. I like the way Capcom integrated scoring into the game and how it plays an essential role (you don't just beat things up until the end of the game / you need to do so with style and combos).
1. The Legend of Zelda WW
The Best overall Cube game. I love Zelda titles and this version was no different. Expansive world, innovative and creative graphics (cell shaded), great characters, good story & the usual Zelda fair (like tight controls for example).
Honorable Mentions: Super Mario Sunshine - I don't own this game and have only played a few hours at a friends house - I plan on purchasing soon.
NBA Street 2 - For whatever reason, I prefer the controls for Gamecube over the XBOX version. I've always preferred the Gamecube controller over all other systems (especially the Wavebird).
Resident Evil (remake) - I've only played this game a few hours / a future purchase.
F-Zero (way too damn hard).

It is an exceptional game, but brutally hard. Especially if racing is not your thing. But then again, since racing is not your thing, you may enjoy this one. You liked Ikaruga and the frustration of doing the same thing over and over and over. F-Zero's harder tracks and story mode can be like that. Thing is, you are going a thousand miles an hour on tracks far above a city, and many of the tracks have no rails, and right-angle corners, and if you go off the track EVEN ONCE, you are dead and have to start the race over. This can be frustrating enough to make you destroy your wonderful wavebird controller, you know, if you are on the last stretch of the third lap, finish line insight and your in first place, and you just BLOW IT and fly off the track.
You have to be either a super-gamer like Peanut Juice or a total glutton for punishment to love F-Zero. Let's just say I'm no super-gamer.

Oh yeah, Gamer. . . I finally got to the very end of Ikaruga and saw the credits and final movie. Have you seen the film "Winged Migration" you know, the "bird movie." Anyway, not a spoiler really, but the end, after the game is over, reminded me of Winged Migration. Very pretty and peaceful after the carnage.
I would never have beaten this game except I was playing Co-op mode, and as long as one of you is still alive, you can join back in, so its like having infinite continue. So truthfully, I didn't beat it, but I did get to see the end.

F-Zero is fun fun. And for only twenty bones now, why wouldn't you pick this game up?
My list is really just a list of all the games I own on the Game Cube, since I've never played any other games on the Cube than what I own. But they are in order of fave to least fave.
1. Ikaruga
2. Eternal Darkness
3. Viewtiful Joe
4. Metroid Prime
5. Wind Waker
6. Beyond Good And Evil
7. F-Zero
8. Mario SUnshine
9. Resident Evil
And Gadfly, if you are able to have unlimited continues in co-op mode, then you should be able to have unlimited in a single player game. You unlock unlimited continues after you get through a certain number of hours. I think...

Ahhh...I can't resist a good list.
My Top Ten...in no particular order...
Metroid Prime - perhaps the finest game ever to don the 1st person perspective
Rogue Squadron - the game that made me buy a Gamecube
Eternal Darkness - the game that showed Capcom that survival horror could be smart, as well as scary.
Super Monkey Ball 2 - one of the best party games ever
Mario Kart: Double Dash - the best party game ever
Animal Crossing - replay, replay, replay...I haven't won it...have you?
Pikmin - I wish real gardening was this fun
Wind Waker - the most artistically gorgeous game ever
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System - yes I know it's mutliplatform...so sue me
Viewtiful Joe - the game that changed my opinions of beat em' ups
honorable mention...
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance - multiplayer dungeon crawling...does it get any better?
Summoner 2: A Goddess Reborn - shut up...I like it

So far out of everyone’s lists only 2 games remain consistent. They are Metroid Prime and Viewtiful Joe.
Does that mean MP and VJ are the 2 best games available for the Gamecube?
And I wouldn't be able to beat Ikaruga without infinite continues either Gadfly. Are you kidding me? I can get to the end of Chapter 3 on my first set of 3 lives though (without continuing).
BTW, I met the guy who scored > 32,000,000 over on an Ikaruga fan site message boards. I think I posted the link to the website in the Ikaruga high scores thread. Anyways he said the he logged in over 300 hours of Ikaruga time! That is dedication! I have about 20 hours!

I would say that's a good assumption. Viewtiful Joe, arguably, was the breakout title on the GC last year and Metroid Prime was the one for the year before. Those two games are the top two in my GC collection with Windwaker coming in a close third.

I'm a cube freak, so my list should be good!
10. Super Mario Sunshine
9. Pikmin
8. Baulder's Gate Dark Alliance
7. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals
6. Soul Calibur 2
5. Mario Kart: Double Dash
4. Animal Crossing
3. Metroid Prime

My list is probably no good but here I go.
10. Final Fantasy: Crystal Cronicals. Mainly for the music, gotta love it.
9. Legend of Zelda: Windwaker.
8. Phantasy Star Onine 2.
7. Lost Kingdoms. And you thought Pikmin was underated, this game kicks butt but it has the same problem as Skies of Arcadia. See below.
6. Super Smash Brothers Melee.
5. Metroid Prime.
4. Soul Calibur 2. Very nicely done, beat 'em up, fighting game.
3. Skies of Arcadia Legends. I was actually suprised I found people on this website who loves this game. I have been to random forums, and even at school, if I mention this game people give me confused answers. -_-;
2. Tales of Symphonia. Just plain wonderful.
1. Legend of Zelda: Master Quest. I have always loved the Zelda games, and even though it was a remake of the N64 version, it's still good.
Zelda and Tales actually tied for first. But, meh, I decided to make the list like so. And Viewtiful Joe probable would have made the list if I ever played it.
